Hi CC I am taking a trip this weekend to play in my first live tournament.
The levels are 20 minutes, starting with 50 BB then 100 BB, and 150 for the first hour, starting stack is 6000, and buy in is 50 dollars.

Online I have good results playing in 12 minute level tournaments. My question is will the 20 min live be similar to the 12 min online? Will I see as many hands? Or how many hands will I see in the live tournament compared to the online ones I am use to? Thanks guys/ gals for your help here.

Also will I have to play more marginal hands, and bluff more in the live tournament?

i would not change my core values. it is going to be slow so stay disciplined and don't get tempted to play marginal hands for the sake of action. it is very similar except that if you pay attention not only do you pick up on villain ranges, you will get a feel for their table talk. GL!!!!

Thanks HomeBrewer. I have been reading online, and it seems that 20 minute blinds live would be equivalent to 8 minute blinds online. Can anyone here confirm this? Thanks all.

I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Playing live is so much better than online.
Just enjoy it, and play the same as you normally do if it has been working for you, but paying attention to the table is more useful than worrying about stats.

Id say play the same game you always do,unless the competition calls for something completely different but don't force it. Biggest skill is reading the peoples body language that can give you a big advantage if your good at it,GL dude!!

Main thing to remember when youre playing live is to not type "what a donk asshole". Especially directed toward the large tatooed fellow thats had a few too many ****tails.

Yes - No - About half

Very cool. Love playing live. More relaxed than online (it moves slower). RELAX and enjoy it. Be ready to pay more attention to your opponents than before.
