I'd be really interested to see a list of dates, payouts and limits at which the bad beat jackpot has hit on Cereus (Ultimate/Absolute). When it hits and my poker client is open a window comes up for ten seconds or so saying who won, how much and what limit they were playing, but it disappears before I can even read the whole thing and I don't know of anywhere this information is archived.

Does anyone know if such a list exists?

Thanks pfb... that's too bad.

The latest winner is listed here -- [old link~tb] -- but it doesn't say what limit was being played. It would probably be safe to assume that the majority of bad beats happen at the most highly-populated games ($50NL). I'm just curious what the distribution might be.

For payouts at the same level, do they make a distinction between full ring and 6 max tables?

Everybody playing a bad beat table at the time gets something regardless of the limit. Usually around $100. The limit doesn't matter distribution is all through %'s.

Not true. Maybe on other sites, but not Cereus. From this page [old link~tb]

In order to qualify for the remainder of the Bad Beat Jackpot that is divided among eligible players, you must satisfy the following conditions:
  • You must be playing at a Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table
  • You must be playing at the same game type and stakes level where the Jackpot was hit
  • You must have played in at least one hand, in your current session at the table, where a Jackpot rake was collected and you must have contributed to that pot
  • You must be sitting in when the Bad Beat occurs
I can attest that I've been playing at different levels (but still at a jackpot table) when the BBJ hit and didn't get paid, but I did get paid when it hit at the same limit I was playing.

You are right that it has to be at the same stakes level to get that extra %. My guess would be that it most often hits at .25/.50 or .50/1 as these have most of the action.

i was on .5/1 limit when it hit on .5/1 nl and did not receive anything ...so i think it would be the same for 6 max/9max...

It gives you some info if you click on the jackpot counter. If you really want to know the limit you can find the players who won it on PTR and find the limits they play.

Its shrewd business on Cereus networks part... it brings the fish running, higher rake, and because better players know there are a lot of fish playing trying to get lucky... they follow them there.

How high is the rake at the bad beat tables? What amount do they take in comparison to regular tables?

Very good idea. I think that's what I'll end up doing.

The extra rake is $0.50 from the pot of each hand that is raked $0.25 or more.

That's a good question I hadn't thought about. I can see where they would consider limit/nl different game types, but I wonder if they consider 6/9 max different? I'll have to e-mail support and ask this. Unless somebody already knows for sure.

I'd be interested in the answer to this (whether 6 max and full ring NL are considered different games). I think the answer is "no," since when I got a piece of the jackpot I was playing full ring and I think it hit at 6 max, but I'm not positive.
