I was playing 0.25/0.50 limit tonight and I was curious as to what my numbers should be? What percentage of flops should I see? What percentage of showdowns won is respectable? It seemed to me that everyone was catching their river card, how do you stop this? I tried keeping a tight-agressive image but no one was respecting any raises or re-raises. I know that you are supposed to make them pay to catch their straight or flush or in tonights case their full house (4 times in 1-1/2 hours when I had the straight or flush) and quads twice against my full house. Please help me, $1.33 hourly rate was not what I had in mind.

Fold

When nights go like that Isearch for a different table because most of the time it stays that way all night. BUt, What I usually do is only pocket pairs out of blind and the button. when i have a blind posted I play any of the top ten aggressively if that don't work I tighten up usually for the fishy's. I look at usaully play 5% - 20% of the hands depending on who is at the table play the top ten or 5 only for an hour or until you firgure out your opponents then adjust if have too many people just playing stupid fold sit a different table.

Good Luck

This is tough, but at those low limit games people will chase and see a lot more than usual. Especially in a limit game. If I have a little something then I know you can only make me invest so much per card. So more than likely I'm going to stay a little more and catch some bonus cards.:)

There's no short answer to your question. If you post some hands in the Hand Analysis forum we can try to look at it there.

What your percentages "should be" is hard to say, but good players typically have a VP$IP (volountarily put money in pot) ~18-20% of the hands in full limit games, and raise preflop ~10%. This is in the long haul, though. I've had nights with VP$IP of close to 30 and some others where it's been below 15%. It's also, of course, dependent on your opposition.

While looking at stats like this might be helpful in finding potential leaks, it should be used with caution. If you ever - ever - consider folding a hand because you feel that your percentages may be off, then you're barking up the wrong tree. Fold a hand because you think it's not worth playing. Work on your winnings, not on your percentages. :)

Sadly there are the perils of low limit poker. Players will call with nothing and catch miracles, re-raises are not respected, and why should they be when it only costs an exta $0.10 to see if you can hit a possbile runner runner.

My suggestion is play some low limit MTT's if you wanna learn how to play the game. I am not saying you cant play, I just assume from the limits you are playing that you are quite new to the game. By playing the MTT's, you are a lot more likely to get respect for your raises and can play the game the way it should be played.

Low limit takes as much skill as playing bingo

respectfuly, i have to disagree with the skill of bingo.... It takes alot and i mean ALOT of patience to be a consistant winner at very low limit poker, but the skill is the same.
