Hello Everyone, new member here, so I apologize in advance if I am posting this in the wrong spot.
I have been doing some research and it seems like sites like Bovada and Carbon Poker accept USA players. How do sites such as Bovada and Carbon get around the bane of my existence, the Unlawful Internet gambling act? I understand that poker is not illegal in most states, with the exception of a few like Kentucky which has made it illegal. I live in California which has not made it illegal.... yet. But the unlawful internet gambling act essentially makes it impossible to deposit and withdraw funds into online poker sites. I have seen sites like Brovad and Carbon poker accepts usa credit cards and prepaid credit cards, but I am not sure how they can do this without breaking the UIGEA.
Since I still have over 3K stuck on fulltilt, I am a little apprehensive to deposit money on these sites. I guess what I would like to know is, what is the possibility of these sites being shut down in the future by the DOJ much like Stars and Fulltilt were?
