I am considering playing in some BCP satellites which give away LSOP packages. Does anyone here know what it is like to play in an event like this? First off, do you have to be fluent in spanish (i.e. do the dealers speak spanish)? I wouldn't want lack of comfortability with the native language affect my poker results and so I am considering whether I should even play in these satellites to begin with.

Also, I am not too familiar with the LSOP. Do you get bracelets like you do in the wsop? Is a win at the LSOP considered to be as good as a WSOP win?

would love to get some feedback.

Thanks

No you do not need to speak Spanish.

I have never played in an LSOP event, but I would assume its the exact same as any other similar buyin tourney + the luxury of vacationing in a different atmosphere.

No bracelets, but cash. Also if I recall from last year, BCP ran these and they had a fine print that I DID not like. (Or this could be for their Punta Cana promo) But basically it was if you win they will credit your account with eCash and not cash @ the actually tourney, which I think is a joke.

I also know many people were trying to sell their packages for far less than what they were worth. Maybe people don't want to visit where it is at? Maybe its not the best structure? I really don't know as I don't play on ACR/BCP and had no interest in winning.

That's pretty interesting. How would ecash work? I wouldn't feel safe going to another country with ecash...lol. I'll probably stay away from those satellites from now on then. Nothing beats cold, hard, cash!

I can tell you that Punta Cana Dominican Republic is a very nice place to go. Most people in the hotel industry speak fairly good English and it may even be taught in the schools.
I also am curious as to what ecash is so if anyone knows please post.

Oh I know it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I just wasn't sure if the dealers speak english or spanish. It would make sense if they spoke spanish. I would really stick out like a sore thumb if I was expected to understand spanish at the table and taht would probably severely affect my game
