Hello everyone
First of all, apologize for my bad English :) .

Me and my friends want to fly to Las Vegas in February for a month to play poker.
Our friend who heard about the idea, recommended as not to fly on February Due to lack of players and action on the poker tables.

I checked and saw that there poker festival on the venetian in February with $2.5 million prize pool.

It looks like a big festival and great one.

My logic says that they would not do such a big festival with big prize pool If they do not expect a lot of players and action.

But my friend says that thay only build on local players ... (the pro's)

I'd love to hear your opinion :)

Thanks.

They do those Deep Stacks about 4-5 times a year. The one in Feb won't be one of the best - but better than the one in April which has the lowest turnouts of all.

I used to play in all of them - it is still worth going to if you have the opportunity. You could also mix in some $125 Aria tournaments if you want to keep your costs down.

for me it's all about the tournaments ...so for me everything it's good.
But for my friend it's all about cash games ...

Can you tell me about the cash games in February ?
There is action?
Or all the tables are full with pro's?

Thanks again.

I rarely play cash games but in Feb I would be surprised for the tables to be full of pros. What level buy-in deos he play?

rarely 2-4/2-5

I was in Vegas last summer and think that Venetian prob has best poker room around there. Played in O8-event, and would love to play again even though I didn't cash. Very soft field.

In general those low-stakes tournaments in Vegas are a rake trap though. So wouldn't suggest places like Aria and Planet Hollywood for that reason if you plan to play small tournaments. If you want to make good results with small bankroll 1-2 or 1-3 games are good... I never play cash but did sit in 1-2 cash game table in Venetian for around 4 hours and got my stack from 100 -> over 500 with very few good hands. Games were very soft.
