Used in a "Kill" game. If someone wins 2 hands in a row, the stakes double on the 3rd hand. The "Kill Button" just keeps track of who has the last win.

Kill Button

I have seen this "Kill Button" and I know what it does . . . But WHY ? ? ? Why do we want to play in a "Kill" game vs. a regular game ?

It is supposed to give extra incentive to the winner to win another game and raise the stakes. Maybe they'll play looser or wilder. Conversely, another player might NOT want the stakes to go up so he might target the previous winner to try to beat him and wreck the 2-in-a-row.

Simply put: Just another gimmick, but was carried over from live play. Kill games are somewhat popular in card rooms.

Generally though your second win must be for a certain amount. What this means is that if you win 1, take the BB and get a walk you don't have to kill the pot.

However in online casinos you act in turn but in B&M casinos the killer has last action on the first round. That is all the action skips the killer and then the killer acts last. Free to just check, call any raise or reraise themselves. You don't see this online.

one of the most profitable games i ever played was a 4/8 limit Kill game...and there was a rule that it could be killed an un-numbered amount of times so from 4/8 it went to 8/16 to 12/20 (thats the highest it got). It is fun and adds a bit of excitement to the game. It still went in order for us though.

hmm.. thinking back it may have been profitable because I flopped the nut straight with AK when it was 12/20. Oh well :)
