My wife was there for some conference and so I tagged along....she really had to twist my arm to go too. I played 3 tournaments...one in Mandalay Bay, and 2 in Luxor....all for around $30 buy in. I cashed in 1 of the Luxor's, coming in 6th for $65, so just about break even. I liked Luxor's much better than MB due to the starting chips being 1200 vs 300 (I played MB's first and didn't go back). If I had a bigger bankroll, and had more time, I would've played a couple more....but was only there for 3 days.
This was my first time playing in a live tourney and was a good experience...alot different than playing online.

Good luck.....I recommend Luxor's.....start with 1200 for $33....that's about as cheap as they come.....blinds start at 25-25, then 25-50, 50-100....every 15 mins. Players are mostly tourists and play was pretty tight. If you're aggressive in late position, you can roll over a few hands and steal some blinds....which definitely helps down the stretch. Just watch out for the donks who'll call any small bet.
