Jackpot Sitngos now available on WPN!!

Yep, just as the title states.... Jackpot sngs are now available on WPN!

I'm not one to play my hand in a lottery pool, but I guess I had to try...:)

JP

Can somebody fill me in how how these things actually work(I'm sure i could probably google it but figured i'd post here instead)? I noticed there was only $20 in prizes for both of my $10 buyins(but 3 players). So where did the other $10 go? Please keep in mind I'm in the U.S. and these are new to me.;)

Tks for any information.

Oh ya... Let's try and keep this thread alive with some WPN Jackpot scores!!

GL, CC'ers!!

I seen Bear in here so hopefully I get this post up before he takes the glory in answering the question :D

Here is the information on Jackpot poker.

http://www.americascardroom.eu/poke...y-poker/software-game-features/jackpot-poker/

To answer your question myself. They take either 2x - 2,500x the Buy in as the prize pool.

The lower multiplication is the most likely to occur. So when you buy-in for $10 you're most likely to be in a SnG with a prize pool of x2 = $20.

So where does your money go? They are using the left over to feed the higher multiplied prize pools which do occur but are much less likely.

They have the odds in the link I posted above.

Just checked for you. They were experiencing issues so the developer's removed it and will (should) have it up tomorrow.

Yup - It's similar, not 100% sure how Stars does it but I would definitely say WPN took the idea from Stars. Which is good. Glad they are keeping up with the times.

Not 100% sure what you mean

but if you go to Game options in the top right of the lobby and click on the themes tab you can change table and cards.

Is that what you meant?

BCP Jackpot Poker?

What do people think of this new game format on Black Chip? I played a few today and found them to be less of a shove fest than I thought and actually kind of fun.

Basics:

$2 or $10 entry. No rake and no fee.

3-max hyper turbo 500 starting chips, 3 min. blinds.

Prizes are in 8 randomly selected tiers for prize pool equal to 2x to 2,500x the buy in. Bottom 5 tiers are more frequent and are winner take all. Top 3 tiers only occur very rarely and all 3 places are paid (higher percentages as you go up places) with option to make a deal to further spread the prize). Odds say you have about a 17 in a 1000 chance roughly of getting into any of the top 3 prize pool tiers but all the others offer a minimum of double up if not more for first.

What do people think? Have you tried them? I think they're fun and while high variance they don't have fees and you don't know until the game begins and you're seated what the prize pool amount is.

It works for me like you said no fees and the usual pool is about $12 for the $2 buy in so that's 6x your money for the tourney! Can't beat that IMO

If they dont take a fee. What do they take? House has to rake something from this. Do they skim off some of the over?

they are 'raked'...the larger prizes are obviously less frequent than the smaller ones...looks like it works out to 94% of buy-ins returned as prizes

Red cross - I agree it's a great way to build a bankroll, low risk investment and even if you lose a bunch in a row, you can hit one of the higher payout ones and get right back up. My only issue is ensuring i counteract the natural mental reaction to put more attention to the higher payout ones than the $4 prize ones. Must focus on the game and ignore the payout prize. Of course I realize other players play less aggressive when the prize is higher so I' try to play more aggressive regardless of the prize in em.

Westside - It's all fun and games until you lose nearly 15 in a row in one night like I did. I do like how I never know what the prize is until it starts, so 6 losses could easily be erased by one win.

Spiral - Looks like since most of the prizes are $4 they take 2 bucks from every table where the prize is $4 (3 players X$2 buy in, $4 to prize, $2 to BCP). I noticed there may be a rake somewhere because I saw a bonus I'm working on move based on rake/fee paid so there's something there.

WhereDid - Good math. I noticed the same. Best part I think is I noticed that they pay rakeback and points on rakeback. I'll have to double chck my acct but I woke up today and had a massive amt of points from rake and some rakeback and all I played past day or so was these specific games. Which would be great because that's icing on the cake.

I wonder how long this will last.

EDIT: I asked BCP and they do take rake from the buy in itself. The rep said 10% but they just updated their website and it says 6%. Either way the rake is eligable for all applicable rakeback/points earned so that's some nice icing on the cake.

For me that's roughly a free buy-in earned from rakeback every 60ish games. Being so fast and able to multi table them, that's not bad at all. And that doesn't include any points that go to bonus unlocking.

They also just put out a $40 buy in one, top prize pool can be $100K.

I have been playing the $10 ones for the past 3 nights...I hadn't played in a while but I had about $60 left in my account and deposited another $100 so I had a slight "cushion". I've been doing pretty well in them, and mixing up games between the $2 and $10 dollar tracked my spins as follows:

In 49 $2 buy in games I spun for 31 $4 prize pools, 8 $8 prize pools, 6 $12 prize pools, and 4 $16 prize pools.

In 44 $10 buy in games I spun for 20 $20 prize pools, 14 $40 prize pools, 7 $60 prize pools, and 3 $80 prize pools.

I've been very fortunate to break a decent profit in the $2 games, and crush the $10 games so far, I won almost every $60 and $80 game I played except for 3.

Bankroll is now at $880 including a pretty much break even 3 hour $.50/1 session where I walked away with ~$30.

I'm digging these things but I know I'm just on the up side of variance so I might take my money and make a real grind on the $.25/$.50 tables or $.50/$1 tables.

One thing I've noticed in the jackpot sng's is that people play really pathetic bingo style all in or fold poker if its a lower prize pool spin. This makes no sense to me, I play each one consistently and don't let the prize pool affect my judgment.

Anyways, my two cents!
