I was playing a session today at 0.05/0.10 PLO8, and I got frustrated with losing a reasonably big pot ($8) to reasonably bad luck, but he had the outs, but it ended up costing me another $12 because I just felt like calling everything to try and catch other people out on bad beats. It was obviously a horrible strategy, and I'm going to put it down to being on tilt. My question is, is it easier to go on tilt online because of how much easier it is to press the 'call' button, which is next to the fold one as opposed to having to physically push chips into a pot.

I reduce the chance of tilt by playing multiple tables. I notice the bad beats less.

Yeah, playing multiple tables tends to lessen the blow as you don't think about individual hands as much. So if you multi-table, you may be less likely to tilt as much.

Of course, online players are less concerned about looking foolish and they play for smaller stakes, so they're probably more likely to tilt and get spewy.

Of course, online you can just quit and leave and watch TV. Whereas at a home game or casino you've made a trip so you might decided to stay longer than you should.

In other words, I don't know. I guess it depends. :)

I think so. As Savage said, online players are less concerned about looking foolish. Live you get fights from time to time but they are few and far between. Most of the time when someone takes a bad beat, or a few of them, live they say "that sucks, that's poker" or the like, and move on with their game. They made a trip and normally don't walk away from a bad beat and it is a lot harder to tilt and say or do something nasty because of it when you are face to face with people (unless you've had a lot of liquid courage).

going tilt when playing multi tables can, be a problem, i highly recommend a five minute break after taking a bad beat on one table, being aware bad beats are part of game has lowered my tilt potential but sometimes i take that 5 minute break when there extra brutal

I so agree with this that if I take even a moment or two break to cool my temper then I can usually not suffer from the dreaded tilt because always remember that poker is a game where you really have to keep your mind focused which you cant do if your on tilt and your emotions hide so as not to try to give off no tells and even online there are tells that can be noticed and piocked up on and then exploited by your opponets
