Please re-download the software

Unfortunately there has been a problem with the recent software update. To resolve this problem please visit the PokerStars. com website, then download and install the game software. This will overwrite the old version on your compter, and the software will now operate normally. DURING INSTALLATION, PLEASE CHOOSE THE "EXPRESS INSTALL" OPTION AND IF YOU ARE ASKED TO OVERWRITE ANY FILES, SIMPLY ACCEPT.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause . If you have any problems, please don't hestate to contact us at support@pokerstars.com.

I am not positive but it may be because we cannot download the .com version in the US, it has to be .net.
This is just a guess.

I believe this was caused by a (not too) recent update which corrupted the updater, meaning that everyone had to re-install to get the next update
We all had to do it as far as I know ( I did it around the end of June), even in the UK where we have no issues with accessibility.

I've been running the .com version on both my laptop and desktop, as have a number of CCers, so the problem is not global.

Cool, I'm glad you had no problems.

I know some people set their clock back to allow the new update to be delivered, which is also a known workaround to this issue, and I believe some people were able to receive a fix in an update as usual without even being aware that there was a problem.

I was just reassuring the OP that they weren't experiencing anything too unusual
