Is it better to stick to a single cardroom (online and live)?

I've been wondering it for a while. Is it better to stick to one website for playing online, and similarly is it better to stick to one casino to play in real life? Obviously I'd understand there's times you should play at other places (such as big promotions), but if there was nothing on, is there any reason to constantly switch between them?

The main reason I'm asking is that I enjoy real life MTTs the most, so I'd like to pick a website gives me the best chances of getting a ticket to one - do I increase those chances by playing at wherever gives me the most chances to win a ticket, or by playing wherever I can get the most rakeback and using that money to buy them?

IMO from a USA player perspective. For online sites, I play on multiple sites since poker isn't regulated and you never know which one might go under or catch the eye of the government to shut them down.

For live play, I tend to stick to one property so that I can maximize my comps and promotions for X number of hours at one property. Hope that helps, and I would be interested to see what people from other countries say.

I prefer to play in the same room when it comes to online poker because it is easier when one gets used to the software and the regular tournament schedule they present, for live poker there are not many options in my country so I do not have a lot to choose

I would say for online poker NO! I use to try a stick with a particular site and it got to a stage where I was loosing all the time trying to grind through it and not getting anywhere was feeling pretty down about it TBH.

I then decide to try a couple of other sites and,,,,,,, hay it was win, win, win.
It was a great boost of confidence for my game ( and my wallet)

And now days I do not hesitate to switch if im on a down swing on a particular site.

Plus your playing against new players, the players where you usually play might be able to angle you if you have become predictable.

{ Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results is the definition of Insanity}

Now for casinos, I would say yes stick to one at a time unless your unhappy there are are just out for a bit of fun.

The reason I say this is its a way to control the variables, you will become less distracted know the layout and can just focous on solid poker or other card games if thats your thing.

I always go where the best tourneys are or the best deals.

I even go as far as messaging every site and say-

{ Hey I would like to deposit X amount and am looking for a bonus?}

If your super nice you can normally get around 8% or there abouts, so though seems a bit snakey for every 100 I deposit I get 8 on top which believe me is better in my account than theirs and maxamises profit of minimises loss whichever swing your on.

Hope this helps

In my country online poker is regulated so i do not have too much choice and possibilities to switch. I can choose between pokerstars, bet365 and some local ones. Due to this i stick with stars.

if you use to play cash is better to focus in a single poker room, but if you play tournaments and freerolls is better to play in several rooms.

play live on cash games is better cause you can know your opponents and take good decisions on the table

Depends on what you play, and the stakes you play, game selection is also important so if you play alot of tables, u might not always have games running and would want to select games where fields are soft, you can play few sites and see which sites u have easiest time on against the players on those sites, if u feel they are good, find another site, and try playing on only one or few that u feel players are weaker on :)

Yes, it is good and correct IMO.

And even if it is only one room, I would say 1-2 solid, reliable rooms with plenty of games according to what you play (cash games, MTTs, freerolls, satellites, etc) is the proper. Just pick 1-2 trustworthy online poker sites and grind the hell.

I think it doesn't hurt to play at a couple of course not at once but its nice to switch it up now and then:0) And if you are a grinder at those tournaments you never know when its your time too win so playing at multiple sites could increase your chances:0)Good luck out there
