Inactive players

Either play or don't register for the tourneys is my personal opinion, there shud be ways to detect these players or if not, then after so many hands not played... be removed from the tourney. I do understand technical issues and what not but as I have stated after so many hands not played or by the blinds somehow. They shud be removed!! I play betonline, ACR and fullflush and i notice mostly BOL where players not playing, fullflush not so much. and ACR it states inactive! I am not trying to offend anyone just my personal opinion!

I think that should be a limit of time to they get active. If not just baned him.

i seen a player getting booted during the micromillions heads up tourney a few days ago...... i think it was round 2 and both players were sat out so as the hand was dealt the small blind auto folds to the big blind and that was it the big blind advanced to the next round........ i only know this as i was scrolling thru the lobby and if you had won your match the "largest" stack would have been 4000 chips but i saw one table had a largest stack of 2020 which intrigued me to check it out so i watched the replay and that's what happened

Exactly. I always min raise in these spots in case they come back. There's no sense in making a 3x+ raise unless there are active players in the pot.

I think it's kinda funny that the op is bothered by these players.

I dont have any problem with the sitouts....we can just take their blinds...in time they will be out of the game...
Also i came across few poker rooms that used to automatically terminate players if they dont get active within 15 minutes of tourney start....this rule was only for freerolls....these rooms might suite you i guess....awkward thing is am not able to recollect which poker room was that...

I have nothing against inactive players.
The more there are the better for others. Shall be discharged from the system.
in some rooms can be seen which are inactive which is annoying.

the benefit of uncontested chips is far better than another player sitting there to bust you

I guess bad players think it's bad because they compare to themselves meaning less chance of mistakes?

Chip leader that's a fish which means it just takes longer to get it off him... perhaps impatience is your leak, we need to adjust accordingly to the game.

I wouldn't say I mind them so much. The problem is is that if you're shortstacked and there are several sitouts at the table as the larger stacks just won't give you the opportunity to either steal or play. Then again that gives you another opportunity to develop more strategy for shortstack play

It was UltimateBet that used to kick out sitters after the first blind increase.

You need to learn how to recognise who is sitting out and who else that is sitting in has noticed, if no one else has noticed then it is easy money.

I love it when there are a lot of sit outs and no one else has noticed.

Inactive players are in your favor! I love inactive players, I hope they never have a limit time or anything that would allow for these players to get kicked off. That would be horrible, its the easiest way of gaining chips in poker, they're not even there yet have to put their chips in!

Forgot to add before, the inactive players paid to enter the tourney just like you OP, they are entitled to sit out if they want to, even in a freeroll.

Great point Zorba. We don't want to start taking away players rights when using their own money.

Do not bother me, and they are the easiest to eat chips but I prefer a game and not get chips as a gift because I love when everyone plays.

Sometimes someone registers earlier when there is no late registration because it knows that I'll be later. After some times he return to play...

I think the lack of players in the tournament is even a plus since you can steal their blinds and increase your stack.

I always register for the freeroll that is close to midnight on BetOnline before I get off work. I don't get home until 1240. By then half the field is gone and I usually have about 800 chips still. I don't mind anyone who sits out.

I do agree with some posters that you can just steal their blinds. Also, I can feel what the OP is saying. One thing that is annoying is when there are two tables left and I'm at a table of 9 with all active players and the other table has 7 people sitting out. That's not even close to a fair game. The issue has it's pros and cons. I'll admit, many times I register for ACR freerolls with no intention of playing just to help reach the number of players to start. I actually do it just to be nice to the other freerollers.
