I've had two accounts on pokerstars and have been using them to cheat poker.

Kidding. I just got an email from Stars saying I had an account 'THE SHR0G' and have been playing on a different one, The Shrog. They shut down the newer one, and left me to play on THE SHR0G. I think I created this years ago before I ever even made a deposit..I know we should all read the rules and regulations and abide by them, but I really had no idea I had this other account. Anyway, support shipped my funds to the old one, so a few things.

1. My Stars name is THE SHR0G (with a zero)
2. Props to Stars support for looking into the situation, seeing my innocence, and allowing me to have an account, all within about 5-6 minutes.
3. I'm an idiot.

What about your FPP did you have any and were they taken from you? If you were silverstar or greater was it also transferred? Seems like they would allow you to keep the active one and delete the old one... Weird.

You got lucky there because some sites prob would have kept your money and shut down both accounts.:deal:

Like I said, completely unintentional as I didn't even remember I had the other account. Stars gave me a break.

Don't feel bad because I have done the exact same thing on Ultimate Bet before.

Double accounts

Yeah I have the same issue right now with my poker stars account, I know I have an account from way back but I forgot the login, so this week I started a new account. I have not made a deposit yet, and its good to hear that that they didn't screw you over because of that.

I actually have two UB accounts. One for me and one for my girlfriend. She started one way back and now doesn't play so I use her's (that's why my name is dcrys1979 on there *Crystal*). I guess I need to have them shut down the old one.

I had a Pokerstars id Pokedatgal for about three years that I really didn't like after the supposed wittiness quickly wore off but you're stuck with it.

Don't you know after 3 years and thousands of games played somebody complained and I was told to pick a new screen name.

I picked a famous "salt of the earth" personality and I think I'm getting some "respect" from it, if there is such a thing on online poker at "our" level.

Does anyone know if you can officially withdraw/unjoin from a poker site? Maybe with a "suspension/non participation" requirement.

good thing u didnt lose your account and they rolled it over i can understand how this accidently happens and sites should be a bit leanient towards that but the ones that blatenly do it should just be banned

They must have seen that you've been inactive on your other account. I had a similar thing on full tilt. Never made a deposit on the old one either. No problems there, but recently my boyfriend and i had to send in our id's cause we had the same address and made transfers to each other once in a while. It took them about a day to look the matter through, and that was that! Great support system.

Well the upside is you got to keep your cash and your FPP's. Another thing to be happy about, no one will have any notes on this new 'old' screen name.

Before you do anything with that new account, e-mail 'support' and let them know. They can find your other account even if you cannot. Save yourself the grief of that second, newer account being closed in the future.

Good thing it happenned on Pokerstars. There support team is second to none and clearly did the right thing in this situation. Any other site and you could have had big problems. Glad it worked out OK for you! Good luck at the tables....

The same thing happened to me on Absolute when it absorbed Vegas 24/7. But they sorted it all out and summed my cash and credits together. I think the online server community is getting its act together on security. Or at least I'd like to think so! Being an old IT guy I KNOW that it's not that hard to control those things, they just needed an incentive to spend the money to hire some geeks to flesh it out, instead of just trusting the author geeks to be HONEST!!
Peace,
FLOW

I signed up today at Bugsys Club. (Used Cardschat link by the way.) and even though it has been 5 years since I played there, they still had my info on file.

I was sure I would have a problem, but no, it was smooth.

Playing there to get ready for wsop seniors in June. Not so many compulsive all-ins in their freerolls.
