Ok, this summer I am wanting to take a vacation to somewhere that I can play poker. The problem is, I'm only 19, and the age for most casinos is 21. I would try to sat. into some EPT events, but the only thing with that is the flight, as I can not get on a plane. I have heard of some casinos that allow 18+, but do not know of any in the area I live in(I live in Tennessee). Can anybody help me out a litle bit?

could be 1 of 2 things
1)he is scared of flying
2)his name is on the no fly list because it matches the name of a known terrorist
As cool as it would be to be number 2 lol, its number 1. I have a severe phobia of heights, always have, and probably always will

why is it cool to be on the no fly list, for a matter of fact it sucks big time

also i would suggest if ur going to a european country to play some poker, u should go to a country in the scandanavian region

russian is also becoming big on poker so u can check there out as well

Fear of flying is different than fear of heights (I think?). You would hardly know you were at a height on a plane (just shut your shade if you get the window seat). Anyway, have you EVER flown before? It might not be as bad as you think, if you just try it. Drugs an option?

Ok, that being said you might try an Indian Casino that doesn't serve alcohol, and therefore is open to 18 yr olds.

Also, your might find a cruise where you don't have to fly to get there.

Drugs would be an option, and I probably will try flying some day, but I would have to be pretty out there to be able to do it.

The only casino I know of close to me is Harrah's, and its 21+. I'll be doing further research on this, just seeing if any of you guys knew of any places

If it's a "trip" then it doesn't necessarily have to be near to you right? Of course, it's a road trip then, but you might actually be able to plot out a sweet route where you play along the way at various stops (cash games ?) and end a smaller 'major' tournament event, such as this.

That would be pretty sweet, any idea on what kind of rake they have or just what the rake is at Indian casinos in general?

The rake at the Indian casinos here in CA (or ANY casino here in CA) is nothing short of robbery. At the 1-2 NL game they take all the blinds right off the table if 1 person calls the blinds. Max rake is $4. Same rules go for 3-6 limit.

Turning Stone has great golf AND poker! Why have I not been there yet? In fact, why is this the first time I am even hearing of this place, lol.

The islands are calling

You could take a Caribbean poker cruise. I'm pretty sure the legal age for gambling at sea is 18, though you should confirm this before booking anything. Just hop a bus to Florida, and you're on your way.
Some of the Caribbean islands and the Bahamas have casinos as well.
It could cost a bit to get there, but not to worry, you'll more than pay for it with your winnings on the felt.

Yes, quite different. My husband won't even climb beyond a certain point on a standard ladder but he's fine on planes.

But - all of the cruise casinos I know of either don't have poker or use the PokerPro (or ProPoker - I am sleepy lol) tables. So if you are looking for a true poker experience you probably won't get it on a cruise.

I don't mind playing on those tables - but both ships I was on had only one table and they are not always busy. You can't play as much as you would want to.

You can check - there might be some ships with live poker, but again I would be concerned with the lack of popularity on a cruise ship.

See my link above for (18 yr old min. age) POKER CRUISES.

Indian Casino near me (in Thackerville, OK) called Winstar that serves alcohol (which doesn't matter since you're 19) - but allows 18+ (it's on the OK/TX boarder)

Max rake is $5, shorthanded (5 people) max rake is 3.. Has $1/2 (rake the small blind) table NL, 2/5 5/10..4/8 limit.. and a few PLO games.

It's the only casino I've been to, but it seems to be run fairly well..

If you decide to make the trip up to Turning Stone, let me know when. We hold a monthly tourney about 25 minutes off of I-81 (the road you would be on your entire trip) in WV that you may be interested in. It's a $20 buy-in, $20 rebuy for the 1st 2 hours tourney. This past weekend we had 43 people and the prize pool was $2720 (50 rebuys). So if you're flexible on when you go maybe you could plan to be in this area on the night of the tourney and then continue on to the casino the following day. We charge no fees, have free food, and welcome new players.

You can legally do everything in NZ at 18, yet its still 20 to get into the casinos...its quite weird, but good in a way too. Means you dont have the people just cracking to get out causing any probs. any bars with gaming or poker in nz are for 18+ though
