I most definitely agree, for most it's all-in re-buy as many as they can  it really does get old when your balance is low or in my case 0.00 :icon_blac lol

I agree for live events. They are usually really expensive already, so when they have re-entries and add-ons it makes it quite hard for mere mortals to play them if you don't have enough BR to cover at least 1 rebuy and 1 addon. Otherwise, you are in a big disadvantage to the other players who will play loose until the RB/Addon period is over.

As for online events, you can always find a lower buyin tournament you can afford to play and skip the rebuys events completely.

It would be great but I don't think websites will offer or any casino will offer big prices unless its something like the wsop.

yup to me, rebuy tournaments eliminates some level of skill from poker an also creates a unlevel playing field where as the larger bankrolls has an edge which shouldn't be a factor in tournament poker. When i'm playing one the tournament hasn't started until the rebuy/addon period is over.....oh yea Addons are another piece oh $h!+

Just like any other time in poker--you have to adjust. I determine how much I am spending on the tourney based on the guarantee. For the most part i am playing my normal game.

It is what it is. You know that going in. Can't adjust and don't like them, don't play!

Step #1- buy a poker site.
Step #2- Set up tourneys the way you like.
step #3- make/lose money.
or
Don't play games, structures, formats you don't like.

I love rebuy tournaments. It creates such a huge advantage for those who are not playing loosely or are not playing "bingo" poker. It may seem like an annoying attribute but why wouldn't you want people adding more money to a prize pool that you just payed the initial buy in to play in?!

i disagree. i think rebuy and multi entry tournaments should exist just like freezout tournaments with only one entry aswell. its your choice whether you like to play a tournament with re entries or not.

Seems to me you have more people playing week hands more often early on because they know they can re-buy. That should be a benefit.
Then you have people re-buying which increases the prize pool significantly over what it would have been for a single buy-in. Double benefit!

What are your thoughts on this?

Why would you never love re-entries? It juices the prize pool not to mention that most people on their 2nd+ bullet are tilting their minds off

Disagree 100%.

I think most tournaments should be rebuy or re-entries. Just generates a much bigger prize pool, attracts way more worse players and on top of that the play becomes so bad that profitability becomes much better.

lol at the people saying people play mindless or takes out skill is so far from skill. In fact, it's the complete opposite, if people are going all-in or playing really loose, how is that bad for us? We have many more chances to win chips snd when we do get unlucky pr loose a flip we just rebuy. Secondly, for the better player it gives them more chances of not busting the tournament and accumulating a big stack at the same time. If you feel it gives people more edges who are worse, you're wrong. If you feel it gives people with bigger bankrolls an edge, whilst this is true to some degree, it also means you're playing in games that are above your bankroll as you shouldn't be concerned about firing as many bullets needed in any given tournament you play.

To the above, there are many tournies that are not re buys, if you don't like re buys then don't play them, especially if you can't afford them.

I usually find Rebuys/add-ons the best. However I limit myself to 1 Rebuy 1 Add-on. My best cashes have been in rebuys! always loose players dumping money into the prize pool and I get a 2nd chance if I get a bad beat early.

I like pokerstars for their turbo micro stakes tourney freezeout. Other sites like iPoker almost always include rebuy/addon with long late reg period. So they end up taking a long time and may cost you way more then you wanted to invest in the first place.

The worst part is when you win a ticket to a higher buyin but it is rebuy/addon. I usually can't afford to rebuy/addon so I'm leaving a huge edge to the regulars that are rolled for those tourneys.

Freezeout all the way please!

rebuy MTT are more cash game like. You need a strategy to generate a lot of chips in the early rounds.

When you can get a loose player to double you up I look at it as if they pay for my rebuy chips !! It's a goal for me and the serious play starts when the break is over !!

I'm not against them. I mean, personally me, I don't like those tourneys so...I usually don't play them:) Fortunately there are lots of regular ones so you always can find what to play.
But the good part about those tournaments is that sometimes you can double your stack relatively easy.

I definitely agree with you about no rebuys or it can be only one rebuy or one ADD ON. There are people with hundreds rebuys and playing every hand on the table just because they will rebuy after they lose huge amount of chips and rebuys and after it he will won 2-3 all-ins in a row and he will became chip leader , many cases like this I witness.
