Hi guys - my name is Pablo Vega - been playing poker on and off for a number of years now....I'm posting in regards to Bet Victor and Shaun - they stole 2,500 from me and 4,500 from a fellow player. My story can be found here

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/internet-poker/betvictor-stole-7k-1380289/

I'm posting to warn fellow players and possibly recoup my funds - Shaun nor BV are returning my messages at this point and I'm not sure what else to do.

That's what you get for collusion. Stop cheating and it won't happen to you again.

Looks like the actions taken by a site for some sort of violation. They don't reply to emails made by cheats, or abusers of the rules. The classic signs of being banned or suspended. And then the suspect wonders why no response.

Besides you say you and a friend in your title. Then on your 2+2 thread you say you had to look the player up to find out who it was.?????????

So what happens to the 7k? What does the site do with it?

For the life of me I can't understand why people who get themselves into these situations feel compelled to go from forum to forum crying innocence in their initial(and likely only) post, when it's in many cases obvious what they were doing.

Vega, what do you feel you're going to gain by posting this at multiple sites? Someone to not read through the lines and believe you and say they're sorry? For the couple people who do play on the small site to not play there anymore? For some employee of the site to come here and see your story and think, oh because he posted that, he MUST be telling the truth, let's open his account back up!(HA)

You deserve having your account locked down for cheating with your friend, wait, fellow player, wait, random player...

So what happens to the 7k? What does the site do with it?
Some of the bigger sites will go back and reimburse players who were cheated against.

Glad I don't have any friends that play online. That sucks to loose your money like that.
So what happened? Were you two in some hands together? Playing on the same connection? Why did they think you was cheating?

It isn't that he was playing with a friend, it was that they were likely(can't prove it obviously, but most likely) playing extremely soft against one another so that both would benefit.

why do you assume I'm cheating without hearing the facts of the case? Logically how do 2 people enter a tournament with intent on cheating successfully? I'd like to defend my case but if we can't talk about this logically there's no sense in continuing. If you knew anything about Bet Victor you would see they've locked accounts in the past incorrectly and Microgaming as a whole doesn't have a good reputation in regards to this.

They won't give me any details or hands showing the "collusion". I'm fine with confiscating funds and locking accounts if collusion actually happened but the fact is they don't have proof and don't want to look foolish for being wrong here. Originally they were going to lock my account for 6 months then give the funds back, but after questioning that they locked it permanently(oops). I even sharkscoped my top 10 opponents and this player wasn't even in my top 10!

the title was edited by the moderator on this site. I never wrote "friend" or "I think" but apparently I'm guilty until proven innocent here.

You're the defendent, so obv you are guilty until proven innocent. This is standard accross the board everywhere, there may once have been a time when its innocent until proven guilty but not the case anymore.

Not sure why your title would have been changed, unless you had some not appropriate words in there maybe or just because of the strong accusation as I'm sure you were stating your title as a fact rather than a thought of opinion (when there is no proof, as you say to prove your innocence).

As for what they are doing, we all know when we sign up to poker sights we are taking some for of risk if ever we were to actually read the privacy policies and all the other fine print 99% of us agree to without reading. As you have stated yourself you have obviously made the matter worse in having gone from a 6 month ban to now a permanent ban, should have left well enough alone I suppose. If you honestly think they are stealing from you, go get a lawyer have them review the fine print and see if you have a case and haw many thousands above that 7k it will wind up costing you.

If nothing wrong was done on your part, then ya it sucks I would hate it too but from a third party looking on this situation it sounds like it was probably collusion going on if that is what they are basing their ban on. If they really wanted to cheat and steal I'm sure they would go for a bigger amount than 7k, go big or go home id say. GL on your finding a new site to play and continued success, if you did it once you can grind it up again.

Edit: No one is trying to attack you, but this is how your making yourself known to a forum as a first post after joining up? I'ts just fishy and screams of guilt as we have seen it a couple of times in similar situations. I mean its not going to get people on your side to have a complete stranger screaming accusations about a poker site (which i havn't even heard of personally).

Mainly, because about 99 out of 100 of posts like this are in fact people trying to pull a fast one, or garner sympathy, or trying to salvage their reputation after getting caught. Or just desperate to try anything to recover their funds, as futile as it is.

While I know sites can make mistakes, and some might even be shady, as poker players we're a slave to probability. And probability tells us the most likely explanation is there's more to this story, because there almost always is. You may in fact be that 1 guy out of 100, but it's going to take a lot of supporting evidence to convince most people on a forum, especially if they don't know you and can't vouch for you.

I changed the title because as stated above we have never heard of you and you stated it as a fact - we have no idea if it is a fact or not.
