I love fulltilt, but the badge idea is stupid, what do you think?

What do you think about the new FTP badges?

I'm not sure if anyone else agrees with me but I honestly believe this is total crap and just annoying. I turned the badges off to return back to the normal table display.

Anyone else agree? According to FTP, "people" liked the idea and wanted them?! I never once heard about this stupid idea...

I don't mean to bad rep FTP at all, they remain my favorite site.. but this badge thing is just stupid.:withstupi

The worst thing on it is, that you can't turn them off completely.

Your badges will be visible for every other player, even if you
turn this function for yourself off.

Badges...?
If someone need them..., O.K.!
But let me turn mine off...!!!

If you go into options and un-check visibility for each badge other people wont see yours. Seems weird because I can still see my own but I asked other people and they couldnt see mine. The only reason I dont turn them off completely is becuase I want to see other people's to 'guage' their experience if they dont turn them off as well.

Personally I find them gimmicky and corny. I love the accolades on Carbon but I see that entire site as one big gimmick, lol.

I don't know... it might get some newer players tyring to get badges for their avatar & get them to play a bit more in an effort to achieve this.. who knows?
Personally I like to leave them on so I can see who plays often enough to have an Ironman badge (& then look up to see if they're a winning player with that extra experience or if it's given them more oppurtunity to lose even more).
Before I figured out how to turn off the webpage that would pop up I was very annoyed with them (I click on avatars constantly to add notes, probably once or twice an orbit). Once I figured out how to turn this off they haven't bothered me at all. It's not really a big deal.

The badge thing is kinda stupid i mean you get the true poker player badge even if you play for like 1$ and it always bugs me when i miss click on one of the corners in the avatar box and it automatically forwards me to the page with badges ... just annoying

Anything that amuses the fish and keeps them playing is good for the poker economy, imo.

Doesn't matter

Doesn't matter much to me whether or not they are there or not.It does not affect me in the least.I could really care less whether they are there or not.I don't go looking for that when I am playing at the tables.

How do you do that??? That's what I hate about them.

OK -- figured it out, now that I know it's possible.

I don't like the badges they look fairly tacky seem like a gimmick, they don't really offer me any real advantage for the stakes that i play and just seem to get in the way.

Thanks for the tip on displaying badges without links. That was driving me crazy! Every time I misclicked it would open a web page.

I guess now I don't mind the badges so much, although it does seem like 95% of people are considered True Poker Players, which doesn't seem quite right...

I think the badges are stupid, but they do fit FT's history with the stupid avatars as well.

It's not like I'd stop playing there because of these things though.

Maybe they were intentionally added in an attempt to redirect players on the webpages and make them more aware of promotions, the academy, schedule of events, etc.

You can turn off the link function of it by clicking to options>badges>my view --> roll it to "Display badges without links"

Oh yeah sure, "people liked the idea". You mean the idea that FTP could place their promotions at every table in the form of links to help promote more play and profit for FTP.

Yeah I hear all the time from the people I play there how they want more opportunities for FTP to make more $$$$.

:puke:"people liked the idea" -- their people.

The badges are just another way for Fulltilt to try and make more money. I don't blame them but I think they could come up with another way that would be better than badges. I mean if they offered an ironman avatar I know I would try to get it lol. Anyways I think the badges will be gone soon!

Yeah, the badges are silly just because they're almost all just gimme's. Do I really care that everyone at my table is a, "TRUE POKER PLAYER!"?
