i have a chatting question

ive been running into alot of foreign language problems on full tilt and pokerstars......

on full tilt...i cant find anything that says if its english only or not....i just mute them now. does anyone know if it is english only?

on pokerstars chatting is in english only, but have found when you politly ask them to speak english they are sometimes very rude. i have actually been followed by some of them trying to get me in trouble, until the moderator said they could be banned, after reveiwing the chat.

i enjoy playing with other cultures, but being inconsiderate is uncalled for.

i believe it is english only at the table on ftp

If the U.S. would have held tighter control over PC's, then the internet, just a few years more and then not put the kabosh on online poker, the world would be a lot closer to an mainly English world.

Most games at most sites are English only unless specified otherwise.

PokerStars marks what games are non-english in the lobby. All other games are english only and if you have a problem don't hesitate to call a mod.

i have looked for a place to call the mods on ft, but couldnt find one. thanks all....i appreciate the feedback

FT states that the chat on international games ought to be english.
On national freerolls it's the native tongue of that country and/or english.

I don't mind that it's english (I'm half south-african) - alot of people know enough english to communicate but I don't like the idea of a mainly english world, other languages (even german) have their advantages, too (though german grammar sucks ).

In germany english is taught as the no #1 foreign language at school - you have to take it.
In higher grades (college) you have to chose a second, sometimes a third language, too (french, latin, italian, spanish, russian etc)

I usually chat back at them in a bad reproduction of their language....eg "ichshen schplacten sphlenkta" or "tkenttar klrareeran yrterin".

Generally conveys the message (or pisses them off )

Stars mod's are quite good at stopping this though, i don't really mind people talking non english but calling a mod generally pisses them off as well.

Titan Poker is one of the worst sites for chats in a non-English language, even though in tournaments that I have played in, English is specifically requested. Even if you ask nicely to chat in English only, some players completely ignore this and get quite ignorant.
