these all in newbies that play at fulltilt are driving me nutz!! they call on anything just because!! i do think they should be limited to how many of these freerolls they are allowed to play!! when i see a freeroll,...i see an oppourtunity to earn a spot!! these newbies see it as a free chance to go all in with nothing and say " its just a freeroll " its not just a friggin freeroll!! its a chance at something for nothing...... these newbies need more respect for the game before the ruin it for everyone!! they really need to screen some of these boneheads 1st!!

i'm ok now!! if there is anyone else having this problem!... feel free to sound off and get it out of your system!!!

I was a bit more serious about the cash games than I let on. In a freeroll, I often find that a bad player will knock me out and himself at the same time by making a stupid play that I know I'm in front of him on, only for someone behind me to have the nuts.

In cash games, you are going to eventually destroy the idiots just by playing sensibly.

Also, they can't have all the luck but the site could be rigged of course:D.

Don't attribute it to just Full Tilt, it happens everywhere a freeroll occurs. And it was much worse at Party. Mainly cause thats where most played last year.

Learning to deal with those first periods of a tourney did a lot to improve my game. Best advice is to show up late. That works everywhere but UB, where they toss you after about 10 minutes if you haven't shown.

Alternatively, the expert way to survive the first hour in the freedonkroll

Pre-flop - AA,KK all-in, all other hands limp i.e. no 5 betting AQs, etc.

If you hit a monster on the flop or TPTK or trips all-in.

If you hit 2 pairs, draw, etc. then all-in.

If you don't hit the flop, then let the time run down and then all-in.

Once you are table chip leader, then all-in if anyone makes a sizeable bet.

I'll publish the expert strategy for how to win it later.

Just as many "experienced" players do the same thing in every freeroll...And that is their attitude,"IT'S JUST A FREEROLL".......They don't care about playing solid poker, trying to learn or better their game,or anything that might be considered useful and hopefully profitable...So its','if all else fails--ALL IN!' or 'if all else fails, bully the table--ALL IN!'......But what someone else already pointed is true....if you can get them to the cash tables, their chips will be yours in no time...Actually,I think a fr is where you SHOULD (but don't) see better players...it's the one opportunity that you have to work on your game for free...But the world is populated by a$$holes and sadly will continue to be.

Freerolls are not poker. It is a random shot to let people get small amounts of money on their sites in hopes you will deposit later. It is a pokers site version of a drug dealer. You give us 2-3 hours of your time and we will give you a small taste of real money. Hope we get you hooked to our site and you will then deposit and spend more money for us. Basic marketing 101.

the exact reason I hate freerolls. Lets just overplay every hand you have. Blinds 25/50 but you go all-in no matter what. There is no poker here but craps. Roll the dice and hope you win. Why not just go all-in with any two paint cards preflop. Makes the decision making alot easier and you then at least have a chance to steal blinds.

Not true for me, my patience and drive to make a better player of myself is what keeps me playing proper poker even in a freeroll, I also play the same during a re-buy(which some players play like its a freeroll).

I LOVE all-in newbies. Whether in freerolls or penny tables, they are great to practice against. You usually can't pick your opponents and I'll take my skill over their luck any day.

ME NEWBIE UGG

Hey don't blame the newbies, I'm one of them. If your so much above us newbies don't play in the freerolls. Truthfully, I've only got the chance to play in one of them. I seen what your talking about, hey in the first hour I had over 9000 chips and I only went all in once. I was patient played the value of my cards, yea we had the all in bully at my table. I think he read rifles book he was chip leader at one time. I know those kind of players dont last past the first hour, I waited and took him out of the tourny. Two of the players at the table told me thank. You can't blame anybody but yourself its your lack of patience and knowhow of the game thats at fault here," NOT THE NEWBIES"

Remember good players play to win. Donks play to give bad beats.

They know they can't win so they play to make you miserable. They come with the territory. It's a fact of life so we must accept it.

I play like that lol. On certain sites. Its pretty fun though :p Makes it entertaining. Sitting there waiting to just win hands gets boring.

frerolls, all in newbies

I totally agree and was thinking along the same lines as u r , they need to restrict how many freerolls u can play per hour and somehow regain control over the situation, they do it with how many play money chips u r allowed to have, why not frerolls, and u r right its a chance to win something for free I won a seat to wsop event #40 last year threw a couple of successive frerolls at poker host, yes it was tough as it should be but well worth it. my motto is u practice like u play and not just take advatage of a situation. and if u r wondering why i am answering this message kinda late i just joined today ;)

Yes i know it sucks...But you just have to realise that they are always gonna do it and theres nothing we can do about it.

My advice is not to bluff untill it gets down to the more experienced/deticated players, and just take it easy untill then:):)

all in neebies???

I find that a lot, but also some "experienced" players do it. It's a pain but you just have to grin and bear it.

yeah, seriously, you gotta save your cards and call with nothing but KK or AA in those first couple hands. i know i was in a freeroll, decided to pull that with AA on the first hand cause i knew i'd get a caller thinking i was some donk :)

I think that all types of players do it. It's the ones that go in with 2 7 offsuit just to get lucky. I think if you're not serious about playing and learning more about poker don't play and mess the game up for the rest of us. A lot of times I will just sit out for the first few hands and let the "all in idiots" get it out of their system and/or out of the game. Patience is the Key!!

Its a mood thing for me. I am a newb at poker but when it comes to freerolls I will occasionally start out with some all ins early. If I lose I go do some homework. If I win I settle down. I wouldn't do this in a money game or a local game.
