I was recently accused of committing collusion on full tilt poker because a friend and I played many tournaments together but did not ever cheat. We never used any tactics such as chip dumping to gain an advantage. We simply made side bets on who would finish higher because neither of us liked to play big stakes at the time (due to a lack of trust). We also played 18 people or more sit n gos at all times so that there was less chance we would get placed at the same table. We played together for about 5 months and were both negative profit sit and go players. I only profited in multi tournaments and cash games, which we never played together.

Months after playing any sit and go's with my friend and after a recent good string of cash game sessions I had about 800 dollars in my account. Suddenly full tilt writes me and tells me without warning that my account has been permanantly closed due to collusion and they are keeping 800 dollars and refunding it to other players that were in the games. First of all, we never profited and that money was made in 100 percent cash games, and secondly nobody that played in the games with us ever received anything.

They continue to send me generic email responses and do not even have a phone number to call that would explain to me the details of the case. A couple days later they told me that due to my refusal to end the conversation they placed a stop on a 150 dollar check that was recently sent to me.

Its extremely unfortunate that such a large site can have such poor customer service and be so greedy. I urge players to avoid playing on full tilt unless you are able to somehow protect your funds because if you win a big tournament they are not liable to pay you and they wont.

I admit ft support is pretty much shit. You were breaking the rules. I've been at ft for a couple years and i haven't had any problems. Well I don't break ft rules. Least you got some money?

Hijack a plane and drive it into the headquarters imo.
It makes a big impact when done that way.

Yes, post the emails -- if you bother to come back within the next 2 years. Also post your FT name.

Many of us play often enough with online pals, and most of us happily KO our pals and have no problem if our pals KO us. :) I doubt that any site would ban a regular player for collusion without good cause. It would be stupid. I know that, in some cases, people are told they cannot play certain sorts of games with a friend or family member, and that's all that happens. The reaction/penalty is calibrated. There has to be more to this for you to get kicked off entirely. So cough up those emails if you want us to believe there's nothing to this.

I'm in favor of colluders getting banned. Warms my little heart to see it happen.

there are many emails I will post the first one and my ftp name is ateamcrew. Like i said I was not cheating and we did not play everyday maybe 2 or 3 times a week together.

Let me just remind you that all they had to say is that they did not want me playing in the same tournaments as rfeely and I would have happily complied. They took my 800 bucks and kept it. There is no money to give back to the players because I was a negative sit n go player when rfeely played with me. That is why we made side bets so if we lost we still could win something.

Hello -------,

This email is to inform you that we have completed our investigation into your
account.

Our Investigations team has determined that you have been involved in collusion
with player rfeely174. You have violated our site rules, and your Full Tilt
Poker account has been permanently closed.

All funds in your account have been forfeited and will be distributed to the
affected players as compensation.

Please note that you are not permitted to create another account at Full Tilt
Poker. If you attempt to do so, the account will be closed and any associated
funds will also be forfeited.

Regards,

Obviously they are not going to block your account without reason. Remember it does not have to be chip dumping if they went through your hand historys and found where either of you raised and the other folded a very good hand they will find that.

If you truly think you were not cheating then you should write them and ask what they found that caused the account to be closed, not sure they will tell you but worth a try.

Have you and your friend ever played in the same house?

I have no idea what the little poker child is saying...But yea grossberger i did and they said they could not reveal that. We did not raise each other off good hands but we tried to avoid pots with each other like ppl do in real casinos by checking it down. Definitely not immoral and we r in college together so its not the same room but maybe same IP but they didnt let us play one table so we played 2 and they always put as at different tables to start so they had to know what was going on for months.

In some cases they do.

My father had his account banned and over $2300 taken from him. FT actuallly sent my acct the email notifying me that my "second" account was shut down. He created his account over a year after I did on my recommendation.

FT assumed that since we shared a last name and the same town that we must be the same person. He has never played at my house. I have played on his internet connection though. We share a family business and sometimes I have to mind the storefront, which shares a it's internet with his house (same property). Though I used my own laptop. So with all this "evidence" FT deemed we had to be the same person.

We never purposely played in the same SNG and neither of us played ring. We did sometimes run into eachother due to playing the sme levels, but there was never any collusion. I used to take pride in busting the old man so i could gloat at work the next day. We eventually got everything straightened out, but it did take almost two months.

So FT sometimes does make mistakes, so don't be so quick to judge. We have all at one time or another played at a table with a friend or relative.

OP:I'm sure if you were in fact cheat-free it will come out in the end. But then again, if they really believe you did cheat, you're going to be hard pressed to change their minds. Better get to data mining your HH's and tracked stats. Might help your case. Or not.

Hate to tell you, but that's collusion. Answer this question honestly...were you ever on the phone with your buddy when playing??

I totally feel you Kaahk. I feel like we were in a very similar situation. I would try not to bust my friend because we avoided playing big pots but anytime we both had solid hands I enjoyed busting my friend so I can win my side bet! Its amazing though they say their decision is final yet they have no phone number to call or no reasonable customer service agent you can call and explain the situation. When people are first accused of collustion THEY ARE WARNED. This never happened or I would have never played with him!

And to answer lektrikguy No we did not but he lived a few walking minutes away so sometimes I would offer my advice ONLY WHEN OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT because I have been playing for so much longer and as long as he is not beating me I want to see my friend win.

Ah, good question. Even avoiding pots with eachother (especially if it;s obvious) could be grounds for a shut down. Never noticed that on my first read.
