I cheated my roll up to 23K and then Bovada gave it back to those I cheated.

Facts
I created an account at work.
My boss previously played poker on Bovada.
I deposited 400 turned it into 23,700.
They verified my account to make withdraws after the first week when I had it up to about 8000.
2 days ago when account was at its high point, they froze it.
I called in.
Thy said they would call me with 24 hours.
25 hours later I called back, talked to Nicole (in their security department)
She said a lot, one thing that stuck out was when she said that. Me and they player that was banned had identical voices. She said she listened to a recording (over a year ago). Of m boss and me, and we sounded identical. We sound as different as vanilla is to chocolate. At that point I knew she was lying, and I knew I was in for.
She ended the call saying they would get back to me the next day.
Today I got a call from Chris who was "handling my case"
He said that because I played on the same computer and because my card that I used to deposit said DrClutter (the name of my bosses business) he said that my money would not be paid to me, and there was nothing I could do about it.
I will gladly answer any questions, if you have any I created an email just for this sjw08isme@yahoo.com. I will also answer any questions on here. I want them to suffer for doing this to me, if they do this to me, they can do it to you.

Help me make this the story it should be. A site should have consequences for its actions.

For yourself, try writing out the details and everything that happens to you, and who you have talked with. Get full names.

Spend some time making a case, but before you present that case, make sure it is clear, logical and understandable to someone who has NOT been through anything similar. Spelling and punctuation will matter.

Get your boss involved.

If something happens and Bovada makes things right, you will want to add that to the story.

We can not, obviously, just accept a brand new members word that something happened. We are not without sympathy, but really you could have lost 23K and just have a grudge. So before you go freaking out, get you own shit together. Then you will find a few sympathetic ears.

I don't know the details of your situation but one thing I do know on every site I've ever played on (20 sites?), you cannot deposit funds onto your account with someone else's Credit Card.

you cannot deposit funds onto your account with someone else's Credit Card.

true of DFS too, or pretty much any site that will allow you to make withdrawals and transfers (i.e, paypal, skrill, etc).

You may be able to have your boss give written permission for the funds to be paid in your name, but that's nothing more than a personal theory.
(basically expanding upon what di11 suggested above):

Get your boss involved.

Are they accusing you of using your bosses credit card or are they accusing you of having multiple accounts?

To clarify, she listened to a recording of your and your boss? or, she listened to a recording of your boss from last year and assessed that you sound the same while on the phone with you?

apparently you can, they let him deposit $400:confused: , or do you mean that people that used somebody else's credit card in the past have had their $ confiscated?

OP , did you nicely ask them for the $400 back at least ?

She said she listened to a recording (over a year ago). Of m boss and me, and we sounded identical. We sound as different as vanilla is to chocolate.

She listened to a recording of OP's boss from over a year ago, heard OP's voice on the phone, and assessed that they sounded the same

Are they accusing you of using your bosses credit card
my card that I used to deposit said DrClutter (the name of my bosses business)
Although it was a company card (obvious raised eyebrows here ) it may have been OP's personal business credit card (IE nobody else uses it)
However
They verified my account to make withdraws after the first week when I had it up to about 8000.
I don't understand how they can raise any concern with his deposit method when they 'verified' his account afterwards
or are they accusing you of having multiple accounts?
Now I think you're onto something...
I created an account at work.
My boss previously played poker on Bovada.
...
Me and they player that was banned had identical voices.
...
He said that because I played on the same computer and because my card that I used to deposit said DrClutter (the name of my bosses business)

Think of this from their POV: A player signs up, deposits money, and later gets banned for violating the rules. Some time later, another player signs up from the same IP using a card from the same business. It's painfully obvious that this is most likely the first player trying to get around the rules by using another company card (which he can create easily and on-demand) with a fake identity (or god forbid an employee's!)

We can not, obviously, just accept a brand new members word that something happened.

Your story does sound fishy, and I can't blame Bovada for noticing! Just like sjw08, I don't mean to call you a liar, but you are making substantial claims and there should be documents to back this up. I'm not suggesting you post sensitive financial information on a public forum, only trying to get you to understand why the forum might not take a stance against a certain site based on your thread. Assuming that your claims are true, here's where I believe they got out of line:

he said that my money would not be paid to me, and there was nothing I could do about it.

International litigation is not my specialty, but surely there is some legal recourse when $37,000 vanishes

try writing out the details and everything that happens to you, and who you have talked with. Get full names.

Spend some time making a case, but before you present that case, make sure it is clear, logical and understandable to someone who has NOT been through anything similar. Spelling and punctuation will matter.

Get your boss involved.
^ Excellent advice, open up notepad and pretend you are on the phone with the owner of the company and you have only 1 chance to make your case. Acknowledge that they have reasonable doubts to your legitimacy based on your IP and CC but that you can prove otherwise. Type it out, read it, edit it, read it aloud, improve it, and when you get it down perfect... Approach them with a level head, respect, and permanence (All the facts are written down as they truly occurred, and your story never changes!) Most of all, prove to them that you are serious and a force to be reckoned with (respectfully, do not forget this key point and cross the line!)

If something happens and Bovada makes things right, you will want to add that to the story.
Please keep us posted, and best of luck!

1st question why the hell are you using your company card to create an account?? don't you have to have the card registered to your home address for security purpose's?

2 isn't using company funds for personal gain against the law????

It sounds to me like you went out of your way to do as much wrong as you could.

You created an account at work where someone else had already created an account and been banned and you funded the account with a company credit card. Who does that?

Spend some time reading the BOVADA Terms of Service. (TOS). I will venture a guess you did not give it more that a cursory glance when you signed up. Reading that will be a real eye opener.

Notice in the replies here that we are not taking sides, but are offering you some good advice.

Personally I think you will never return to this thread. We see this several times a year, and few keep up with the threads they started. Those that have kept up, have a better rate of success.

Does this mean if you use your wife's credit card, our card which we both use is in her name, you could also be banned?

I'd be shocked if you DIDN'T get banned, tbh.

when you sign up just don't misrepresent who you are, give them all true info and they can't find a way out of paying you..... just think the scrutiny your account will go through if you happen to win one of the major tournaments

Sorry to hear your situation OP, I can only imagine how frustrated and angry you must be. One thing i'd most certainly do is to arrange and offer to meet Bovada face to face at their offices to verify your identity. Of course this is a massive amount of money we're talking about so you need to exhaust all your options.

I don't play on Bovada and am not a fan of the anonymous feature

I don't play on 'bodog' anymore either (due to the anonymous feature & not because I can't use a HUD... because I don't use one).. but... I NEVER had a problem cashing a cheque from them ever!

I actually might go back & play a game or two on there. Just received an email from them today telling me I still had pts. in my account & could convert them to tourney tickets. Nice! Guess I'm playing! (... & can't wait to get another cheque because I KNOW my bank will cash it every single time!)
