So Yesterday, I was in the 2.5k gtd on merge, and I was currently in 2nd, only slightly behind chip leader, the blinds were somewere around 1/2k and I had 130k. 30 players left and already ITM. All of a sudden, The client crashes and everyone in the tournament is logged out. For an hour and a half I repeatedly try to get back on the site and even talk to support and they say it is down, and will work on fixing it as soon as possible.

Finally, it works, its been 2 hours and the blinds are now 10k/20k... somebody happened to be able to get on a little before everybody else and I assuse he kept raising every hand and now has a stack of 500k... His stack was around 40k pre crash, so I thought this was ridiculous! My stack is now 96k. he shoves on my BB I have 84o, no way can I call. i now have 52k on the small blind (the antes and the small blind were taken off), New big stack the 500k guy is the BB I have to go all in with 45o, he calls with 44 I get a flush, he gets a boat. I'm out in 24th...

This guy (500k stack) is the only guy over 4 BB, in which case he ran over the tournament and took first which I thought was pretty annoying being that I remember him having a ~40k stack before the crash... He raised every hand and basically had people shoving the BB some were foolish enough to fold when they had less chips behind the blind  ... It was basically a crap shoot for the rest of the tournament.

I just thought it was complete BS on the clients part of messing up the tournament, especially when I was as deep as I was...

Anybody ever have anything happen to them like this? Not this specifically but having your tournament messed up by something you did not do personally?

I just thought this was ridiculous..

Yeah, it happens. You're not on your own here, man. There are a lot of people who are in the same boat as you when something like this happens.

I would contact support again and ask (if not demand) that they ICM that tournament.

A client should never be the reason for a tournament outcome change.

They should have suspended all tournaments during the client crash especially if they were aware of the problem and either cancelled tournaments, ICM the tournaments or have them finish at a later date. Depending on the current state of the particular tournament.

IMO the site should discontinue the tournament already and pay based on the rankings when the disconnection happened. They do that on party poker and 888.
