It occurs to me, that according to DOJ requirements, that since PP left the US shortly after the UEGIA became law, they might be able to re-enter the new US OLP scene almost immediately.

At one point, PP was easily handling huge player pools, meaning they had enough hardware to handle those huge crowds. But that was 7 years ago, and that hardware probably rusted.

IMO, the sites that prevail in the upcoming NEW OLP boom in the US will be the one with the best software, so how is the software these days?

Please compare against Merge (great game selection), and Full Tilt (best user interface), and then maybe against Stars (always functional if somewhat boring interface).

Party has lags and lots of connection problems, but now that they have merge with Bwin I thought they would have upgraded their servers to handle the cross plat-forming, don't think that happened.

After 6 years playing there I'm used to the setup, but I really like the refresh rate that Stars has ie: your chip rank status is updated immediately after the hand (in MTTs), not after or during the next hand.

I truly enjoy the most in partypoker software and I love mtt's there but it has some connection issues. So, no one can't compare with pokerstars.

A couple of months ago they were having regular problems. At times they were 'pausing' all freerolls, then cancelling them. Presumably to reserve the servers for pay-to-play games? Though I think this happened to some pay-to-play games too. I haven't noticed it happening for the last couple of months though.

Still happening, party poker cancelling tournaments, but not so much than sometime ago..
Maybe party poker have some problems to pay to players the prize moneys and so on, so they need make saves by cancelling tournaments.
