How to Make Money As A Losing Player

So I posted about the ACR Stormer incentive program in a different thread and was encouraged by multiple parties to create a separate thread about it, so here it is.

So America's Cardroom, first and foremost, is the U.S. facing skin of the WPN Network (Yatahay in PokerTracker4).

The ACR Stormer program started as a small thing, unaffiliated with ACR. Now it is a fully integrated affiliation and supported directly by America's Cardroom.

You can technically become a "Stormer" just by hanging out in our Discord group.

However, there is an ACR Stormer "Stream Team" -- a group of 36+ and counting Twitch Poker streamers who get paid to stream the poker platform.

The pay scale for The ACR Stormer Stream Team can be found here.

I will repost the pay scale below..

STORMERS REWARDS PROGRAM

• Level 1: $15 tournament bucks for every 100 viewed hours streamed plus $25 bonus tournament bucks for 1,000 viewed hours streamed.
• Level 2: $20 tournament bucks for every 100 viewed hours streamed plus $50 bonus tournament bucks for 2,000 viewed hours streamed.
• Level 3: $25 tournament bucks for every 100 viewed hours streamed plus $50 bonus tournament bucks for 3,000 viewed hours streamed.
• Level 4: $30 tournament bucks for every 100 viewed hours streamed plus $75 bonus tournament bucks for 4,000 viewed hours streamed.
• Level 5: $1,500 tournament bucks for 5,000 viewed hours streamed.
• Level 6: $3,000 tournament bucks for 10,000 viewed hours.

What is a "viewed hour?"
It is calculated by: (raw hours streamed) x (avg number of viewers) = viewed hours

Can I stream freerolls and still get paid?
Yes, you can literally stream anything on the Americas Cardroom site and get paid through the incentive program.

I, "BUSB0Y" (my ACR screen name)-- personally streamed over 300+ hours of poker in the month of October to achieve my "viewer hour" bonus of $1,500.

I did this with 500-ish followers. It is not a lot. But it just goes to show that it is possible for most people to achieve a living wage while playing poker, even if you are not very good. Heck, even if you are a LOSING PLAYER, like me!

Hey, I'm not proud of the fact that I'm a losing player. Hell, I'm trying my ass off to get better. I recently even used my winnings to sign up for Ryan Laplante's course, LearnProPoker.com.

My main point is that, technology, mainly the platform Twitch as well as ACR's generous incentive program, has actually made it possible for a LOSING POKER PLAYER to make a livable wage playing poker.

The ACR Stormer program is just one stream of many streams of revenue. Let me list them all for you below:

1. Direct Poker Income -- for me, this is a net loss, but hopefully one day I can become a winning poker player.
2. ACR Stormer Incentive Program -- Pays up to $3,000 per month depending on your following and how many hours you stream.
3. WPN Affiliate program, paid by number of new players you sign up, how often they play, and how much money they wager on the site.
4. Twitch money -- made up from Twitch subscriptions, bit drops, and direct PayPal donations made through the platform.
5. Other affiliate monies -- One of the very best things about the ACR Stormer program (as if it wasn't already awesome enough) is that it remains an "open relationship." This means being an ACR Stormer is not an exclusive deal -- we are all allowed to still stream other poker platforms. Yes that's right. That means I can play BetOnline or PokerStars or whatever other site I want to play. However, ACR only pays me for the hours that I am streaming the ACR poker site. Very reasonable and awesome if you ask me.

The thing is, I have little if any incentive right now to stream any other poker room. This is because America's Cardroom is the only poker room to offer this incentive program.

Perhaps other rooms have similar deals which I do not know about. I'm sure they do.

The main difference is that ACR is an extremely transparent company, and they make the program available for ANYONE to apply. Here is the application page, just scroll to the bottom for directions on how to apply.

I will say that you have a better chance of being accepted if you have a current Stormer team member vouch for you though.

We (stormers) are a small but growing family. We look out for each other and support each other and are looking to grow the team internationally.

I don't know man, I went to dayjahvue to get the password for today's ACR stormers freeroll, and she was celebrating reaching 87 viewers, she was really happy to see that number. And she was the host of the tournament, where everyone had to go to get the password. Good luck!

I have a couple of questions.

Do i need to join a forum or just the discord thing?
How do you actually get followers?
Do i need a web cam? If so im sure you have to talk during it right
Do people follow a whole turny watching or do they need to for the viewed hours thing?

Im very interested in giving this a try as i play anywhere from 4 to 10 hours a day So i dunno if you want to reply here or shoot me a pm to discuss further,

Hi Mike-- the first 4 levels are "cumulative" which means added to together. To reach level 5, you simply must stream for 5,000 total "viewed hours" and same for level 6-- 10,00 total "viewed hours."

yes this is how getting the pw works; I made a Google calendar for all Stormer Home Games for easier access

How to get followers? F'd if I know, just "be yourself" is the best advice anyone ever gamve me
Webcam: yes you kind of do NEED one eventually, but it's not necessary to start streaming; if you're asking my advice, I'd say just START STREAMING first, get some momentum going, then add the webcam when you get it; Literally follow Nike's advice and "just do it"

FYI: Earlier this week I was fired from ACR Stormers for not adhering to their "ambassador guidelines" -- but I still fully support the site and the Stormer program as they have only been good to me.

Honestly, i was shocked a few days ago to see you naked (Topless) on live streaming.
That is one hell of a turn off for a man and you have shown disrespect for a lady.
I know you don't have any ill intention, you just want more publicity and of course more traffic means more money, but you really headed the wrong way.

Start fresh my friend, if Trump can be president of USA, anything is possible..lol
A few things you might wanna take note.

As a Streamer means you are presenting yourself to your viewer, your appearance is very important, so try to wear something nice or at least Appropriate.

Mind your language, try to cut down on swearing. I will not want my kids to watch Trump's speech because they will tell me "If my president speak that way, why can't i?"

Lastly, more interaction with your viewer that are watching live. This will surely make them stay tuned on your channel rather than switching to watch others.

You can be better my friend, we Chinese don't give up easily eh?

I do have a few thigs to say in response:

regarding streaming with no shirt on:
I do this out of a practical nature, as when I started streaming this summer, it is quite hot in Southern California, so I am always shirtless at home, so no reason to change things just for the stream (or is there?)

regarding "appearance is very important" comment
I don't disagree. However I take pride in my "honesty." Perhaps I am often too honest for my own good, where my strength thereby becomes my weakness, as inevitably all heroes often come to terms with, but that doesn't dissuade me from still embracing my strength/weakness. My point is that if I feel like going shirtless I will, decency be damned.

regarding, swearing/cussing etc
I can control my behavior and speech, 100%. Similar to how Gary V knowingly cusswes and is fine with it, cussing is simply how I naturally think and feel. I think society becomes too scared to acknowledge that anger is sometimes natural and should be embraced. Only by embracing anger and aggression can it be dissipated. Once I express that I am angry, I am no longer angry. But, if I am instead forced to ignore and bottle up my anger-- I can fool myself into temporarily thinking it is gone, but bottled up anger manifests itself in different forms if left to fester.


regarding interacting with viewers
Yes! Thank you for this one. I am still new at this streaming thing and can definitely get better at interacting with the viewer while I am streaming.

Well if you're already playing ACR just keep doing that, if not, start.

Then start streaming, I recommend using streamlabs OBS software.

Stream ACR a lot (not required by them) to show them you are loyal.

Then apply.

Thanks for the kind words bro. Life has kinda been shitty since I blew this opportunity but happy to share it with others.
