Since the mini Ftops have started, im just wondering how long they are. I have heard from other forums that they are at least 15 hrs! which woudl mean i would not play them. However, a friend of mine told me that only the main events last that long.

MiniFTOPS#1 has a larger field than most of them (15,328) & lasted for 11hrs.

Probably a bit longer than MiniFtops#1 (the $30 one is quite popular & it also is on a Sunday!).
The blind structure is better in #13 (compared with #1)... a bit slower.
Guar. prizepool is $450k... which is a ~15,000 players. I'd guess this gets exceeded & will be closer to 20,000-ish.

How long will it last??... idk.. maybe 13.5hrs.?

Ok here's my 'final guess' > 13:42:18

This is assuming you would get that far without busting playing for 15hours and IF you did manage I'm sure when you looked at the prize money you certainly wouldn't be wanting to leave!

They all range depending ont he type of tournament. If it super turbo it will last max 1 1/2 hours and if it is non turbo super stack it can last about 10 hours with that many people especially miniftops #11 which is a small buy in and there will be at least 15,000 people for it.

aright thanks. ANother question, is it true that the higher the buy ins are, the longer the tournaments usually are. Cuz i know that the 2.20- 5 dollar tournamnets are about 4-5 hrs. How long would the 10 dollar tourneys last?

It stands to reason that the more people invest, the less chance they're is that they are happy to stack off lightly, thus, the higher the buy in, the more likely it is the tournament will last longer.

Yep, it depends on the size of buy-in, type of game e.g the SD NL 2-7 mini ftop only needs 400 to hit the guarantee. So if you're going into a popular one it could last a while (as above), you wont truly have a full idea until you're playing in it.

Check the tournament lobby.... be sure to check off "completed". Then scroll back thru the lobby & check out any of the tournaments you were thinking of playing (they'll obviously have more players on the weekends... so if you're looking up something like > 10:45 $5 SuperStack today it has 383 entrants but on the weekend this number will likely be higher).

Lower buyin tourneys usually don't last as long because the structure is faster (but also as mentioned, players tend to get their chips in pretty early in them too.... in alot of the cheaper donkaments, 1/2 the field is gone by first break).
