I've got a little under $15 on this site and I'm trying to build it into an honest bankroll.

There are some smaller priced games on this site, and I was wondering if I should just stick to the $1 SnG's & MTTs and go higher until I reach $20?

Then I can chance playing $5 double or nothing games with 6 players, which I do okay most of the time.

I don't feel comfortable playing the five and dime NL tables without a sizeable cash flow so this makes it tougher for me....they rarely have limit or part limit tables running or I would sit in on any of these games if they were available

Any advice would be helpful....THANKS

Thanks, Leo

I know it's gonna be a slow grind and it's gonna take time

Hmm, I'm not sure I'd play cash games till $100+, I'd say go SNG/tourney to build it, but that's more my style of play... I guess to each his own.

I'm in the FR's on the site as well, but I'm taking the challenge on

I played online several years ago before New York State was shut out most of the great sites(Full Tilt, pokerstars, partypoker, Doyle's, etc) and I had a really good cashout of over $2500 on party poker playing two-$10 satellites to grab a seat into a 100K GTD tourney so I definately have an itch to climb back into the action.

But at the same time I know I need to crawl before I walk...

Today, I was able to climb $7 playing in 3 SnG's as well as placing in the "Bankroll Builder" on the site

I'll keep you all posted on my day to day results, if interested

I appreciate all the advice as well....thanks very much for the support as well

Today I went 5 for 5 in my games (4=SnG and 1=MTT) to more than triple the sum I had yesterday...very excited after playing roughly 5 hours tonight

I'll keep posting here only if anyone has an interest, but I'm sure you all have better things to do

I don't expect this result every day, of course, but I'm hoping I can keep trudging on and actually make something happen

I went up to $5 SnG games simply because I took a chance with going up to $5 SnG's after I won close to $15.... Again, this isn't going to happen each day for me

Either my patience and discipline paid off today or I just had a nice run...I do hope I can maintain and have consistency over the week and into the weekend. If I can grind on maybe I can make something happen at America's Cardroom

I always do...I'm not a kid, and I do believe in learning something new every day

I've been sticking to the grind and have brought my mini BR up to $48.45 after a slight setback

My patience is better and I'm starting to pick up more tells which I didn't always catch before

Thanks, Reptar

I'm familiar with Minted but Merge isn't taking US players now

I jumped too early with $5 SnG tourneys so I keep it now at $1-$3, and I only play $3 tourneys after I won the money on that particular day

I'm definately getting better through grinding as well as feeling confident towards building this into a respectful amount...my goal is $200 then higher stakes

I am working on a bankroll from zero on Americas Card Room as well. Although I am violating BRM to get some real money quick, or start from zero again :(

With $22 currently, I am playing $10NL. Had it down to $1 last night, but had a sweet run and got back to $22.

Seeing that they opened up a Sportsbook this year, I may also travel over and place some 'lock' bets to increase my account :trytofly:

GL to you as well, WEC

As for leo's advice, Cdub, I've been doing personal headcheck each day before I start playing to help keep focused....solid lesson

I busted my roll at ACR (I've been playing way under-rolled, especially there, where MTTs aren't so micro-friendly), unfortunately just in time for CC's tourneys there. So no buy-ins, but maybe I can score something in the FR today. Or maybe I can grind up the $.66 I have left? LOL...

If you are trying to build a bankroll on ACR I would play the $2500 and $3500. They run every Wenesday and Sunday at 8pm and only cost $5.50. They have a very weak field and a very good structure.

With only $15 in your account and lack of 2NL or cheap $0.10/$0.25/$0.50 tournaments it will be very hard not to bust... hope for hell of a run...

It would be nice if ACR would add some $1 or $2 mtt's.

if your playing at a bigger stake with low cash flow you need to play very tight to protect bankroll.

When I started out many years ago I played 6-max $.01/$.02 ring games on on PokerStars. I barely ground out a profit and I found that once I had $20 in profit I didn't care, so I'd make $10 then go on a streak and lose $10. Then I'd panic, get serious and win $10, then I'd get comfortable and lose it.

I made a deal with myself that if I made another $20 profit I could take that $20 and use it in higher limit games.
With that incentive I won the $20 pretty quickly and moved to the $.05/$.10 tables (skipping the $.2/$.05 level).
Well, I did very well at that level and I never looked back.

Part of it was that the higher stakes made me play better, part of it was that I started using PokerTracker then, and I think part of it was that the stuff I had been learning in books and forums wasn't as effective at the lower stakes as it was in the higher stakes.

Anyway, it's your bankroll so you can do whatever you want with it. If it's irreplaceable then you need to be careful with it. If you can always get more then don't let it impede you too much.

When my BR is low at ACR, I grind up playing as many of the .25r and .50r satellites as possible, winning multiple seats and getting cash credit. They are scheduled at least every hour, and on occasion twice an hour

Do we assume that this is 8pm (ET)?
I don't live in ET time zone but when I'm posting on a forum I typically will write tourney start times in ET but will also specify this.
So often I read threads on CC and there'll be a time posted by member & have no clue what that time actually is because no timezone specified (read a thread yesterday with a member from UK tellin' another member from Austrailia that tables were toughest at 8am..... I was thinkin' "8am.. 8am what? "

So I'm checking ACR/BCP tourney lobby now (it's Wed.) I see a $2,500guar. at 6pm (ET) but it's a $50 buyin. And at 8pm (ET) I see a $2,000guar. but it's a $40 buyin.
I can't find the tourney you're talking about? (maybe it's changed now?)
I will check to see if I can find it running on Sunday.

Could you possibly post a screenshot of the lobby showing these tourneys for us please? I can't find them at all.
(if unfamiliar with posting screenshot, the easiest way to do it is by using Screenhunter 5.0 free)
