Most poker rooms have 1/2nl. But it seems like you have to only go to the big poker rooms if you want to say play 2/5nl. Is there a reason for this? In AC, theres just one place to play 2/5nl and that is the borgata. Every poker room on the boardwalk doesnt have 2/5 unless its Taj.

Even in vegas most rooms dont have 2/5nl unless its bellagio, wynn, aria or venetian.

You are understating that a bit. Looks like there are at least 15 that have $2/$5 in Vegas. Every casino I've been to in IL spreads at least up to $2/5, many even having a $5/10 game on the weekends, sometimes up to $10/25. Although, I have no clue on how AC is.

Most of it depends on the traffic the room has, the more toursity the traffic the less likely the room will have larger limits. A few casinos around here offer 2/5 but usually one or maybe 2 tables of it. If enough of the clientele wants a higher game the rooms will spread it. Also the level of comps can make a difference. When the comps get boosted as a promotion the traffic usually increases meaning more tables running 2/5 . The large majority of players are your tourist types that want to sit down with $100 or less and play for a couple of hours, this is not what 2/5 offers.

Thats true but why is it?? Also i know there are lot of live pros out there so that got me thinking... wouldn't there be much more tables than that? It seems like a room with just a few tables isn't enough when a good amt of them are live pros.

2/5 in AC runs at Harrah's and Caesar's based on interest. Harrah's has one 2-3 days during week and almost always on weekend. Caesar's it's spotty outside of wsop weeks in March!!

Yea it does but only when its some wsop circuit event. Is there a reason why higher games dont even go like 2/5? I mean you got ppl betting 50 bucks a blackjack hand and buying in for 500 or 1000 and the poker room doesn't have a player playing a 1k buyin?

Wow, you need to come spend some time in Macau. The cheapest tables these days at 25-50 HK$ (about a $3-$6), and places like Wynn often won't have anything less than 50-100 ($6-$12) and higher.

I was in Starworld the other night (midweek), and one of the tables was running at $1000-$2000 ($120-$240) and was full. If there is interest, there is play.

In the US, you get plenty of cheap poker because that is where the players are. Most places will have larger dollar tables if there is interest, because the casino makes more per hand in rake. But if there is no interest, there is no table.

So why does the difference matter? I think this is a non-issue.

Its mostly based on traffic. They might spread during the weekends, but not a lot of people are playing during the weekends. I haven't been to Vegas, but ive seen local casinos with 2/5 or 5/10 on the weekends and towards the night. During the day and weekdays, its usually just 1/2 or 1/3 no limit, and 3/6 limit.
