There are a LOT of card rooms where i live (in California), but they are ALL 40 miles away. Sometimes there is a lot of traffic, sometimes no traffic.

Im just sick of all this driving. I feel like i am playing more aggressive or less aggressive based on the time of day (because if im there midday and stay until 3:45, i will get slammed in after work traffic). If i play later, i have to wait until traffic dies around 7, but then after the hour drive, i can only get 5 or 6 hours in unless i wanna be home at 4AM.

Just wondering if you guys deal with the same crap. do tell. thx =D

40 miles is pretty close. There just arent enough poker players to support a casino every 10 miles.

Now that I've moved back to Montreal, I'm about 30ish minutes away from the casino. When I was still back in Calgary, I had 6 casinos within 20ish minutes of my house, Damn I really miss that...

There are poker rooms all over metro Detroit and Ann Arbor. Closest is 3 miles away, but I work there, closest to one I can play at about 10 miles (I work at three closest to me).

in Panama city, Panama there are at least 5 Casinos with poker rooms but not many poker players so normally we need to choose from two, both in the business district so what we do is we play poker after office wait for the traffic ham to finish and then go home. The poker stars Tournament and other International poker Tournaments are held in one of this Casinos so is not always in the same Poker room. It used to be at the Majestic Casino but I think it will be at the Veneto hotel and casino.

Casino not too far. I prefer online. I can even mail the check to the bank. And I can play in my underware.

May I ask why its depressing?
Just a guess, but a poker room with only a handful of players is often depressing as is one where the decor has been allowed to deteriorate.

There are no casino's in the state that I live in, but there is a poker tournament at a bar right down the street from my house. They play two times a week so it is very convenient for me.

3.5 hours to the closest casino, without traffic. (Would have to drive through or around DC) I wish I had one 40 miles away. :(

I live in California as well and deal with the same problem. Maybe you should try the players casino in ventura. Just drove here for my first time. A little farther than commerce or whatever but very little traffic.
