So obviously (for now) Americans can't play on pokerstars while in the U.S., but Americans also still can't play while outside the country.
I have to think this doesn't make sense - why can't an American on vacation in canada or Europe? - but it is what it is and that debate is for a different thread. My question is what is the best way for an American to play on Pokerstars?
I see online that you need to be able to prove to Pokerstars that you reside in a country where online poker is legal. Does that mean you need a permanent residence? I see you can apply for permanent residency in Canada as a poker player, but do you need to show that you were already a pro poker player before immigrating to Canada or can you apply just saying you want to be a pro poker player once you get there?
Also, I see you can and/or have to send them a utility bill. Would they let me go live with friends without getting a permanent residency and then send them proof that I'm living there, but still only be in Canada technically as a tourist? What about other countries like mexico, Central America, and Europe?
Any input/info/advice is greatly appreciated.
