has anyone else noticed this or is it just me.
when joining a new site everything is rosey for the first 1-2 weeks, bad beats mimimum, premium hands a pleanty, alls well im thinking i can make it pro again, then........
the first huge suck out hits, then another then another, then kk loses to 4-4 on the river after he's called u down, now everytime you raise you miss and your oppents keep hittinghuge hands.
i've yet to exactly get to the bottom of the internet poker mystery, the above staement has been common, on Pacific, bluesquare, virgin, ladbrokes
,.(others like fulltilt and devilfish and william hill
) lost str8 away from day one without any chance of winning.)
firstly you could say "well it must be your play" becasue thats a human response, and thats fair enough secondly you could say " he's just unlucky"
it isnt my play i dont think as ive played for 5 years , read the books, and put the graft in. yet i cant hold a profit, just loss after loss after loss.
playing cash 2-1-5-10 n/l, and b4 anyone says it , i know its a game of massive luck and minimum skill.
thats my reasoning after learning the game inside out twice, i had myself convinced when i won, it was because i played exellent poker ,( and a lot of the time i did) but re thinking i know how phil ivey wins !!! he can only win the same way i can by ultimatly hitting the cards.(pure luck) then making good descisions/reads when he needs to.(pure skill)
luck 75% skill 25%.
it could be said that im wrong? but i'll bet my bottom dollar that if its a skill game, and phil ivey is more skillfull than me, and i played him heads up first to 10 games wins, i'd fancy my chances of being even with him/or a head. sounds like bullsh.it eh?, then why did they invent game theory then? because the luck element in games such as poker cancells out the skill.thats why!
