Anyone hear about the home games promotion offered on pokerstars . net?

Users can set up their own home game network to play with friends via the internet.

Apparently, you can customize the games. All you have to do to set up a home game
is pick a name and assign it an invitation code. After that, the player becomes the manager for the club and creates the lobby, table designs, stakes, and tournament or private tables.

Then the manager invites players to join by emailing them.

What do you think?

If it's on .net, can people from the same household/IP play?

A lot of the people I'd like to play with just for fun are couples and I don't care if they're sharing info, but unless the tourney is over 45 entrants or something on the .com two people from the same IP can't play.

sounds like a great idea in case we are to no longer able to play for real money on Stars. Setup a .net game and ships funds through a paypal account. Sounds like a good way to beat the rake for private games too.

I wonder what they (PS) see as the advantage for them?

Do I have to install .net software if I have .com installed? Can both live on the same computer without issues?

They allow forums such as us here at cc to secure their players private sngs, mtts and cash games. Hopefully many poker communities will play their games on pokerstars.

Just got a news popup while browsing (Stars was logged in and minimized) saying home games were available.

Logged off and back on and got an updated (client version 4.265) and was able to create a club on the .com site.

You can set up real money and play money games, both cash ring games and tournaments.

This is a fantastic idea. It's been hard for me to keep up with some of my poker playing buds in the States since I moved to Japan -- this would be an awesome way for us to get a weekly game going again!

+1 to pokerstars.

Interesting.

I went to create a home game club and it defaults to real money games.

Now that I have started my own I see what it is capable of and I love it.

Being able to start a ring table is fantastic. The fact that we can have private tables anytime we want now is really great.

We can even have KO games and 6-max. I am loving this. Hopefully others will too.

Yup that is the default currency but change it to Play Money and you are all set for rake free games.

this is just the thing I was hoping ps would do, now all I have to worry about is getting enough people together to actually have a good game going, out of all my friends that used to play maybe 3 actually play online, the rest of them don't even play poker anymore, I am hoping this forum sets up a club for us newer members of CC, I would love the opportunity to play with the members here.
