So I'm not quite sure what the proper term is for this 'cash out' but you'll understand. So I sit in at a cash game with $2. I grind my way up and improve to $3-$4 or whenever I've peaked in my profits. I want to leave the table and sit back down with $2 so that I can keep that extra money and not leave it on the table.

I am a PC user. I've tried standing up and then closing the window where it has the option 'leave table'. Every time when I come back it asks me 'you must buy back in for $x' which is how much I initially left the table with. Could anyone please help a man out and tell me how it is possible to do this? It's sort of urgent because I've just started playing cash and I don't want to have to stay on the table with money I want tucked away (I'd hate to lose it)

It's not "cashing out, it's called "ratholing" and Full Tilt is trying to prevent it.

I believe you have to wait 2 hours before you can buy-in with the minimum.

Wow ok. That is a bit of an extreme measure isn't it. Because I know if I stay on there longer I will lose more. Have they done that to stop people making more profits? Bit of a dog move. Thanks for letting me know it's called 'ratholing' and it lasts 2 hours on full tilt. Thanks for fast reply.

Also but, if I click +seat while I'm already at a table with my money it also makes me sit in for the amount I currently have on my current table. Either way I'm dissatisfied that full tilt does this. Are there any platforms that don't restrict this?

hmmm.. I always think about doing it but never actually tried. I simply stop playing when I double up to avoid the exciting bad decisions..

Think PS lets you do it though..

It is common casino etiquette to allow the table to have a shot at getting their money back. While you can leave anytime it is not proper to take money off the table and keep playing. Hence the not nice term "rat-holing".

Online sites have done this to support good sportsmanship at the tables.

I am under the impression that it is only 5-10 mins, i'm leaning towards 5, unless they have changed it, but I remember it only being 10 min max.

It is called "Ratholing" because the person who does that is a RAT, it is a scummy thing to do but you can do what you like, just don't expect the other players to respect you.

If that is what you want to do, at least wait for 1 full round at the table before you go after you suck out on someone and not leave straight away like the RATS we see doing this.

:(

I don't get this statement- I've peaked in my profits

Being ahead is a sign that you are at a favorable table. Sure luck has something to do with it but running good is certainly a plus. Aside from the nasty image rat-holing can cause the more important consideration is this. You've put bullets (chips,$$$) in the chamber (On the table). Why unload? Your stack of 300-400 is more intimidating than one buy-in 200. It improves your image and therefore your chances for profit. Pile five or ten buy-ins and then take a break.

Obviously I'm sweeping your main concern right under the rug. I could care less if your scared you might lose your little double-up. That's weak thought and doesn't belong in a profitable players mind. Get rid of it. Have discipline, yes. Fear no. And don't mistake your desire to rat-hole your money as discipline. Pure fear and lack of discipline.:deal: Playing with and being able to use a big stack effectively is.

Merry Christmas:icon_sant
