Anything could be possible but probably unlikely. I read about the Absolute Poker and UltimateBet story and that is as close as it gets. Certain people could see the other players hole cards. They won TOO much money and that is what gave them away. It makes me wonder if they just slowed down their win rate could they of gotten away with it longer.

Anything can be hacked. If organisations like NASA can't keep their shit locked down then what hope would a Pokersite have?

Nothing impossible, even the best security site has been hacked once or twice ....

would think that ... based on that case, do not put to many bankroll on your poker account....put extra into the bankaccount... since...at least bank account has FDIC...

LOL

Im sure they all have hackers at some point. all we can do is hope they get caught quickly and without much damage to the players.

there is on youtube a video of a guy hacking into pokerstars and viewing wholecards.

it sure looks real. But its not for me to say and not something I would want to do myself.
and I hope it isn't widespread.

although given how inteligent some of the net sensations are who knows

I think in recent months cyperspace has become so so dangerous, governments have been hacked for millions and sam tricket said in an interview that he had his account hacked and millions of his poker winnings transfered from his bank

Didn't happen. Those videos are well known scams. They offer to sell you the hack for $50.

Holecards are not transmitted to the clients until shown so nothing you can "hack" on the client would expose other player's cards. Not to mention that PS uses state-of-the-art encryption that a home user wouldn't have the horsepower to hack. The NSA maybe, but not little hacker Joey from his bedroom.

People with the chops to hack poker sites will be looking for bigger targets like financial institutions. YT videos can be easily faked, don't believe a thing you see on there. Trickett most likely had a keylogger on his computer and they gained access to his account that way, which isn't hacking.

I remember attending a gov IT security seminar. They showed how a naked PC in a room, turned off and unplugged was energized and read from the street.

Of course, that would take a ton of money. The point being, you set up your security so that it takes more money to get at than it's worth.

It didn't but surly you know people just use hacking as a overall general term. I sort of do that myself as well. Its easier to to just say "they hacked it".

if anonymous can hack governement websites its probably no problem hacking a online poker site in costa rica. Its not like they got high tech security or anything. I am sure those russians do it with all the bad calls they make. Its already been proven done on absolute poker and it was done by their own workers leads me to think they had workers making money for them. Potripper was fed up with it and started making it obvious to let us know online poker is rigged.

Very possible.

Any sites/institution are vulnerable to hackers.

I'm sure any poker site would have the best software to guard aganist hackers. But one thing is for sure, anything on the internet can be hacked. Man made it and man can hack it.

So true. If There have been so many huge hacking scandals on major retailers in the past few years here in the U.S. it's definitely a major possibility. Most hacks are targeting customer information, so I doubt any type of hackers could like change the code and see hole cards or anything of that nature. They could quite easily steal a bunch of names and cc numbers I'm sure.

You said exactly what I came to say. This is the type of security breach to most likely happen because it's the most profitable for the criminals. They will make a lot more money by selling everyone's account information than they would trying to create some sort of backdoor chest to play poker with.

yup lol you ever get spam in your inbox that doesnt have your email address on it or even any address on it? But somehow it gets in your inbox hmmmm heck ive always wanted to know about this also. And to get that stuff with your address on it from places you never heard of (dont open). Information must be worth a lot of money these days. I havent traced anything back to CC (thank you CC) but theres other forum sites that have sold gave away or just got hacked with my info that have denied accountability. And for this is one reason why i use CC forum and enjoy it very much. Once again thank you very much Cards Chat!!!

I think that Pokerstars generate enough money to prevent hacking...
They must have his own hacker's team...
They surely does't want to loose credibility...

Even if some one managed to hack the site, he'll probably won't end up in your table. and if he tries to sell the hack, he'll probably get caught

Since this has arisen again I would add that if a 12 year old child in the UK can hack into the Pentagon, I expect anything is possible.

Saying that I don't expect they would hack into a Cc game, whether they could see our cards or not, we would still take em down!!! hehe gl all with your games - hopefully not hacking........:D:D:D
