Great place for practice where people don't play like idiots?

I was wondering if there's a poker room where people can practice and they play as if they were playing with real money? Zynga Poker is surely not it, I see people wander in and drop crazy amounts of money on horrible hands. I'd prefer somewhere where people go to really practice on a serious level.

I don´t know, but often in freerolls people play seriously in the middle and late stages....

You want to practice against people who play like they are using real money, hmmm, I would suggest trying REAL MONEY tables, just a thought.
If you are looking for games where no one plays like an idiot, you are wasting your time & are engaging in the sort of thinking you are trying to avoid.

Playing like an idiot = going all in repeatedly with crappy pocket cards. How am I engaging in the sort of thinking I'm trying to avoid?

Real money tables are great, but since Full Tilt, bodog, and pokerstars are gone, I don't know where I can play (I'm US-based).

I would open a real money account at Hero Poker, Merge network. They have a $100 freeroll paying nine places everyday at 7:00 PM. They also have three tournaments with $30 guaranteed. The three cost .33 each to enter. The games are holdem, horse, and omaha. They paid ten places. You can get some real money experience cheap.

Very nice, thanks for the tip! Been looking at real money rooms. Something trustworthy where my $ shows up when I deposit it, and I can withdraw easily enough, no delays or shadiness.

Wasn't accusing you of playing like an idiot, I have never seen you play & wouldn't call you that anyway. I am talking about your thinking, you make money at poker playing against inferior players, when you are on the losing end of a suckout it means you got your money in good & in the long run you will profit.
Have a look around the forum, there are several sites that accept U.S. players, not the quality or quantity of Stars or FT, but playable.
The other point I want to make to you is that you are not going to improve your game on play tables.
Good luck & welcome to the forum.

Thanks! By "play tables" you mean fake money?

If you are not ready to commit actual money yet, you should give HogWildPoker a go. I play in a league on that site every Tuesday night and the competition is very good. Read up on HWP because they have free rolls frequently and also have a cool "staking" series.
