Youch, nice! That's the kind of table you want to find, that's for sure.

These players are not exactly distinguishing themselves.

Thanks KD!

I can't see how you wouldn't know me - I performed a disappearing act a couple of times this year due to real life interfering with online poker!

Personally, I've played most of the big sites, but I tend to stick to one at a time because I feel they have different rhythms and I play better when I focus on one. Right now, it's Stars (username: whatalaydown). I'll also usually play wherever CC is doing most of its events, which used to be Titan, so I'm eagerly awaiting to see where we go next.

I'm an ok player. I'm a gambler by nature, so my strengths are the maths and probabilities of the game and understanding player betting patterns, but my weakness tends to be frequent impatience and semi-tilt interfering with the strengths!

Claim to fame so far is probably losing a Heads Up match to wsop champ Tom McEvoy on Stars. I play and win a fair number of satellites, and have yet to do better than a small cashing in a big tourney.

My bread and butter is SNGs and Heads Up because I find understanding probabilities helps me a little better in the end-game, and I do alright there. In the CC games, I tend to play loose/aggressive and arguably idiotically. :)

Also play live with friends, and I've discovered that my game mixes poorly with alcohol!

LOL - I agree with the alcohol comment! Ive had my three biggest losing streaks when under the influence of Jack Daniels (the drink, not the player!!! hi jd!)

- anyway -

I concur with KD and nice to meet you on the forums, and see you soon at a CC game!

cheers,

martin

BACK ON TOPIC!

Hi Xife, love the post - he was indeed "owned" (or got "got" as a friend of mine would say) - I have to say that the €0.02/0.04 tables are so full of people that simply havent a clue VERY amusing.

When I go on steam I tend to play these tables just to push people about with my 72o!!!

On a side note, my slump seems to have gone now, won 4 of 7 STT's yesterday, all 10€ buyins, and cashed in the other 3 so Ive got my bankroll back again!!!

got a live home game tonight, 9 people and me round mine. 1000 chips for 50p, unlimited rebuys first hour. after that freezeout. of the 9, i taught 7 of them how to play poker. im confident, but i know im gonna get shafted. still, a quality night for less than a fiver, beer, company, 3 gorgeous girls(liz included), and poker, and and half a bottle of JD waiting in the fridge for me!
Wish me luck, they play it like its limit, ie call all the way to the river!

tequlia is a killer, i have a bottle of the green stuff hidden away(absinthe, £27 a bottle for that one) mix with water and sugar, that'll get them hallucinating into thinking they have AA every hand........
lol like i say, we'll spend a £5 each tops tonight, and thats including the beer.

now - I'll make a bold statement here, no nation on earth (apart from maybe the germans) drink like us brits:

I grew up here on the costa del sol, where the british come to drink even more, and as such I have had a hell of a lot of "training" at the old drinking persuits, jose cuervo is my particular fave, and has been for some years, and Ive had a bottle of absinthe in the cabinet for about 5 years now, (got it as an Xmas pressie, had ONE shot, never touched it since!)

Anyway - now that Im getting older (but not much wiser) ive calmed down the drinking mostly, infact, me and the mrs. are moving to the country next week to get away from the "costa lifestyle" - but Ill go shot for shot with anyone if im playing live, as the easiest way to win is drink them under the table, then nick their chips!!!!!!

Jack Daniels straight, no ice. at anytime
Bushmills, 18 year old, warmed glass.
Guiness in the bar at the brwery in dublin, best in the world, as it gets brwed 50 metres from where you drink it
Kronenbourg 1664( i worked for them for 5 years!)
San miguel in madrid(local brewed)
estrella dram in barcelona(local brewed)
Chateauneuf de pape in france with a nice runny brie and french stick
John smiths smooth with a sunday roast in a pub
house bottle of cava at 'la quinze nuits' on the ramblas in barcelona
2 litres of water every day
unlimited tea

...........these are a few of my favourite drinks.........

Jack Daniels straight, no ice. at anytime (agreed)
Bushmills, 18 year old, warmed glass. (try Talisker if you havent had it yet)
Guiness in the bar at the brwery in dublin, best in the world, as it gets brwed 50 metres from where you drink it (never been Im afraid)
Kronenbourg 1664( i worked for them for 5 years!) (its expense doesnt reassure me)
San miguel in madrid(local brewed) (the brewery is in malaga, come here to drink it, better than madrid!)
estrella dram in barcelona(local brewed) (you get it in the MaccyD's at the top of las ramblas, 1€ for a pint, honest!!!)
Chateauneuf de pape in france with a nice runny brie and french stick (agreed)
John smiths smooth with a sunday roast in a pub (absolutely agreed)
house bottle of cava at 'la quinze nuits' on the ramblas in barcelona (they also do a LOVELY rum and sugar combo, not great for diabetics though!)

2 litres of water every day (Never, fish f*ck in it)
unlimited tea (on my 5th today so far - having the mrs. home is great!)

I feel the need to pipe in with 2 comments:

Comment 1: Us Canadians are pretty good drinkers ourselves. I guess that goes with the territory as members of the commonwealth? After all, I think the Queen is still technically speaking our head of state (ugh). Anyway, despite this, for me tequila is a killer and is part of the reason I remember less of my bachelor party than I'd like!

Comment 2: I was in the Czech Republic a couple of years ago, and tried some absinthe while over there (also mixed with sugar and water). It was quite an experience. Brought home a bottle, and I still have it, I think untouched or almost.

I am a wine drinker generally, vodka when I am out on the town, but strictly beer when playing in my friendly weekly low-stakes poker game.

Hi beriac,

re. point 1) I can only agree - and now that Ive thought about it for a minute, australia has the highest alcohol consumption per capita in the world.... Must be the royal influence that does it!

And yes your alcohol list was more impressive lol.

It's good to know the Costa fishies. Another one for you guys if you aren't aware is Loosifer. My notes on him include such terms as ATM, ultra LAG, will push with middle pair. I watched for about 10 minutes while I was getting shit cards as he bought in 2 or 3 times the I proceeded to take 2 buy ins off him in 4 hands! The whole table groaned when he left says there goes the easiest money they have ever seen. Not sure how many buy-ins he went through before I sat down, but I will search for him ever time I play!!!!
