Gonna be there during wsop so naturally will try to play at Rio a bit. But also looking for a room or two for some daytime detox without the crowd.

Looking for more of a touristy experience so maybe some cheapish tournies (any special dailies w/ WSOP going on?) and some good 1/2-2/5 tables. Obviously soft tables + good rake >>> promotions/bonuses, but promos can be cool.

Thanks!

Alright I was just in Las Vegas so i can only tell you what i think from the experience i just had. I went to a few of the poker rooms. I went to the Golden Nugget, Monte Carlo, Aria, Venetian, and The Wynn, Bellagio. I will start in the order I went. The golden nugget has an old style poker room, but the atmosphere was cool to me. Not many cash games going on during the middle of the day when i went. Tournaments seem cool. Monte Carlo is where I stayed, but they basically only have 1 table for 1/2 cash game and 2/6 limit hold em. The tournament is 4 times a day and they are basically sit and gos. Not expensive at all and can get your feet wet if you are new. The Aria was awesome because it had so many games going and the people who are in there are looking to put down the money. The bellagio poker room was the same as the Aria totally awesome, lots of people lots of action. I played in the venetian and just like the previous lots of action and a lot of people playing in there. I did have one problem with that room is that it is so red in there. I mean there is red everywhere. Little overwhelming. The wynn was awesome. Lots of action and the hotel is bad ass. I am going back again in july for my anniversary and I will be trying out the Rio and other poker rooms that i missed out on.

Always a good resource: allvegaspoker.com

They have recently been revamped as "Poker Atlas", but still have the tournament and cash game reviews. They also are now the official "Player's Guide" to look at schedules for WSOP action (Sattys, Deep Stack... etc) in Vegas.

Dakota: thanks so much! That is an awesome offer. I'll only be there June 10-13 so I'll have to pass. Looks like PH and possibly Aria are the best places for me, maybe that $1500 event if I can fit it in my schedule.

Reg: thanks for the update!

Arahel: Thanks for the advice!

I'm digging the spreadsheet. Shows how much action there is in Vegas during the WSOP!

I stayed at Ballys and I enjoyed it very much. Shuttle to the RIO ran every 30 min.

Go to WSOP.com and find the WSOP rates for Ballys.. I think its like 40$ a night and a little more for weekends. Very cheap and nice rooms!
