Global Poker sent an email this morning - 3 days to get your $$$ (sweeps cash) out via paypal. Paypal cashout usually takes 48 hours - so be advised if you want to withdraw via Paypal, you better do it quickly. Otherwise, Global Poker stated "For cashout of prizes going forward, we are utilising fast payments directly to a bank account of your choice." This would indicate that bank routing and bank account information would be required to withdraw past the Paypal deadline (Global Poker currently doesn't collect this bank info).

For USA players Paypal on Global Poker was a great service. Of course, Global Poker has made a statement "top priority to bring on additional payment partners to ensure our customers have choice." Global Poker goes on to state "We look forward to announcing new payment partners and methods in the coming months."

I am not finding anything about Global Poker's decision on the internet. Does anyone know why Global Poker is discontinuing Paypal? Was this by choice? Did Payal decide the sweepstakes model fell under the insanely stupid UIGEA rules (forbids financial institutions from transferring money to or from online gambling sites)? Or other???

I doubt very very seriously this was their decision. I am sure Paypal has given them a deadline to stop offering them as an option.

It's hard to know what the true reasons are but it is really disappointing how Global handled this transition with lies on top of lies. Most players did not even get the opportunity to make final withdrawals on paypal, they were simply cutoff with no warning or truthful explanation. They are pretty much holding my money hostage.

They just need to allow purchase of Gold Coins via bitcoin, and then allow you to withdraw you sweepstakes wins through bitcoin as well.

I was surprised too, unless I missed an email (I don't think I did), players were only given a 4 day notice. As a new depositor, I had not yet completed the verification process for withdrawal. So, without the verification completed and only a 4 day notice, I am not able to meet the Paypal withdrawal deadline.

You have until June 30 to withdraw via Paypal, so you do have an opportunity to withdraw, it is just a short window. My opinion is that a better customer service would have been a 30 day notice.

For future transactions Global is advertising they'll direct deposit to a banking account. They also promise more options coming soon... so we'll wait and hope for the best!

Myself and what appears to be 80% of players were cutoff without warning in early June. Only a select few have had the option for paypal withdraw since. 0% of people I've seen were happy about this but according to their emails, that is "overwhelming support" for the new method. This is the lie upon lie part I spoke about because anyone with paypal option has no idea that everyone else was moved to a Worldpay "trial" with no other options or warning.
If I decide to go through the hoops for that, they ask for personal banking information and you can search around for the horror stories of how they are (not)protecting this sensitive info.

I believe they currently allow anyone to play but only players from canada and US to withdraw. If that is their intent, I can't see a bitcoin option coming soon. If they can lock the international players from coming in then only allow bitcoin withdrawals that would be nice.

I made a withdrawal several days ago with their new payout method, Worldpay... I was hesitate to give them my banking info but what the heck. Went through without a hitch. Now you have to deposit with a credit card.

Global Poker Scam

Paypal most likely discontinued business with them because no matter how they word it, they are a gambling site. Paypal doesn't do business with gambling sites. They tricked Paypal initially to accepting them. As for GP, they owed me $2000 and refused to pay me out. I am permanently banned from GP as well because of this instance. So it's probably in your best interest not to do any business with Global Poker anyhow. We argued in emails back and forth for months. It simply came down to them telling me that they did not want to pay me and they don't have to. So, yeah..stay away from them.

What are their reasons for not paying you a sweepstakes that you won?

I thought the question was obvious???

Yeah, it was. What I wrote was obvious too. I actually covered your question already. Read it again. That's exactly what they said.

So you requested a withdrawal and they said 'no we don't feel like it, you're banned instead'...?

Yeah, so what? Do some searching. You will find there are various complaints about them not paying out. Sure you can cash out your $50, your $100 but when you get up to big boy league they don't like to pay.

Lets be clear about this. GP is set up with their "sweeps cash" scheme. When you deposit to them you are buying gold coins, which are worthless. Sw. cash is a "free gift" with your purchase. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY OBLIGATION to pay out under their scheme. If they don't want to pay out, they won't. You forfeit your money when you deposit. The pay out is solely up to their discretion. That's why it's set up that way.

Post the emails where they said what you claim?

Who are you? Their frikkin' lawyer? You don't command me to do things. Eat it pal.

There was a question mark at the end of my post. It wasn't a command. It was a request for you to provide some support for your statements. I'm all for sharing experiences with sites, good or bad, as long as they are accurate. Even if they were doing what you claim I doubt they'd come right out and tell you.

You ,on the other hand, commanded me to 'eat it'. I'll pass.

You are right, I wasn't very nice yesterday. I don't feel like going through and finding all the emails. But here's an interesting tidbit, email ignition and ask them about their gaming license.

Close mouths don't get fed, if this was me I would have all the back and forth emails on 2+2 and every poker website. This case is bad business and should be brought to light.

I was surprised to see a poker site that was still using PayPal. I thought PayPal was no longer associating with poker sites for a number of years, though maybe that was just here in Canada. It’s too bad because I used to use PayPal many years ago for poker.

Global Poker

I have cashed out with global poker. Three times 100 100 70. Their minimum buy ins of $1 and $10 are nice.

kinda learned to play there. The other site i was playing on has a minimum of $50, and i went through 300 bucks w/0 a cashout...

i am no high stakes player.
