Hello friends. During this weekend, specifically on Sunday GGPoker had approximately 79,000 players online while pokerstars had around 58,000 players. Do you think GGPoker has already beaten PokerStars? And if true, what do you think this is due to?

So you say if GGPoker went over the top since the audience is the one that values the best. Why no one knows, poker starts has been around for many years and maybe people will try their luck elsewhere.

I have noticed it too and you know something? I like it a lot. Competition between the companies is only a good thing for the players. :)

For me what matters is to keep a competition between them. (better for us)

normally id welcome someone who challenges stars but gg have a strict policy of banning winning players and siezing funds from winning players if this leads to them overtaking stars it is a sad day for regs.

Well, I have to said that GG has been great! Their software is great and the fact of have wsop available to be played too! I hope keeps it momentum therefore we have more option and series to play!

PS still #1 but GG is right behind in #2. But what is the #3 poker room?

it can't be! at least 100,000 players play at pokerstars on weekends.Still depends on the time of day.in the next 5 years, no one will be able to move the PS from the first place.GG is not a competitor to PS

Competition is good for the consumer (players), so this is positive :)

However, I think it will take a longer time frame to decide that.

From my experience, GG do not offer SNGs and have no micro satellites/micro tournaments (sub $1).

Their rakeback system also penalises winning players and they ban HUDS so it's debatable whether that will impact numbers in the long term.

In the short term people are going for the money (big prizes) and the prestige (WSOP).

do you think? :D :D :D

but yea, GG looking very promising, but not for new players

I am by no means an 'experienced' player as I have only been playing for about 2 years but I have or had accounts with almost everyone. For me the way GG works is really good and some of the games are fairly soft. I mean, I am up more than anywhere else at the moment, hopefully that only gets better.
The offer I signed up with was also decent, although it took a fair amount of money to fulfill the 'honeymoon' part but even that ended up profitable.
Yes I think it was a great idea to host the WSOP events and I can see these events being held in addition to the live games, if they return that is.......

I believe pokerstars have shot themselves in the foot with poor customer service often taking weeks to reply to emails etc is one reason why I no longer play there. For me GG is bigger atm but how long this continues no one knows. It seems average traffic is at least as big if not bigger on some days

I know a few people left PokerStars after they started to promote sports betting/casino over their poker offering. They clearly profit more from those activities rather than the poker arm.

I won some money in a free torney on GG and have played a little cash and doubled up but its the software and the stupid chat that tilts me.

You GG players is there any way to stop these chat bubbles popping up. I have been all through the setting and even did a google search :(

I would like to give it a good go, as it does seem softer than stars

This is really surprising to me, GGpoker is really growing fast. Although I prefer pokerstars, it’s good to have more poker rooms options and more competition between them, which probably will result in better promotions to the players.

I just started playing on GGPoker just before the WSOP stuff started. I was quite excited about it.

The “Honeymoon Promo” is pretty good but don’t expect to be able to fulfill all the missions. They say the missions are easy and most are but there are a few that are almost impossible. My “honeymoon” is now over and I was not able to complete 3 of the missions so the last prize of $150 cash was not attainable for me.

What I am disappointed by the most is that their “PokerCraft” area is not telling us the complete truth about how well we are doing. For instance when I play “All in or Fold“ It makes it look like I’m a winning player, but if you watch your bankroll closely you will see that you pay more at those tables then just the big blind and the small blind. Each hand that is played no matter what happens, each person is also playing a 3 cent anti, this is at the $2 tables. When we were trying to figure this out, I played a small session and “PokerCraft said I cashed .68 cents but in reality it was only .38 cents. The anti does not go into the pot it goes right to GG Poker, problem is this is not calculated into their “PokerCraft” .......how “Crafty” of them to hide this from us. So I am quite disappointed by this deceit.

Not sure that I will continue to support GGPoker other than keeping my account and playing the CC Free rolls .

So I would say that I like poker stars better.

Been wondering about this site. Mainly if it is open to US players? Also what kind of deposit options do they have?

GG Poker is not open to US players. This is why, their ambassador Daniel Negreanu is currently in mexico to play the WSOP online.

Definitely the online WSOP event. Cash game activity on GG Poker is still less than half that on PokerStars.

The reason GG grows so fast is the Asian market, they accept most countries in a region that has not been able to play online before.
So many Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais who can be considered fish and are willing to deposit .
Its tougher to play low stake tourneys on Stars than GG for sure.
