getting bad beat to death ok but this is not right'

I just got kicked out of earth poker tournament. lost our free roll earlier with two bad beats hand high two pair on turn and guy drew trips on river. Left me with 40 . I built it up to 960 and went all in with AA to call another all in. They had 10 10 and wouldn't you know it they drew the third 10. that would be 4 hands in a row I have gone all in on preflop with AA or KK and lost them all to hands like 8 j 10 10 5 9 etc. So earth poker freeroll comes up i have J 8 suited flop comes up 44 8 I bet 100. Get called next card is 3 I bet 300 get called. next card the river is a four gives me full house 4 over eights. bet 300 more get raised all in. I call. He has pair of sixes. Money goes over to him and I lose. I had best hand but still lost. I am getting gunshy in these tournaments. Something funny or funky is certainly going on . For verification I wrote down hand 1325105 on 730 pm freeroll on earth poker. They havent answered my questions maybe they will answer yours":stupido3:

I cant really feel sorry for you. That all in fanaticism is overrated. I dont think you're supposed to go all in whenever your hand shines. Play it agressively instead, raising pre-flop, leaving yourself a chance to decide whether its good to go on.

Where poker differs from pure luck games is in the players ability to estimate their hands aginst other players throughout the game. Playing the all in game removes that advantage. Go play Black Jack instead, if you're a fan of games like that.

When you play good hands all in you're basically leaving yourself at the mercy of the community cards and they can go whichever way. A solid play is maintaining control as long as possible. You'll take a dive in your stack if the flop is bad, but you'll still be playing...

Personally, I use all in's betting the turn or the river when i have what i suppose is the strongest hand. That way i sometimes succeed in getting a good pay back from "suckers" going in with me and i rule out the chasers getting lucky. When i get really shortstacked, the antes are getting dangerous and my position is ok'ish, ill use all in's for a go at some blind stealing as a last desparate measure. I hardly ever go all in pre-flop in a tournament or a game i want to do good in. Whatever the hand!

Guys, as a very active member of Cardschat for the last month, I have read and engaged in countless thread discussions about bad beats and suck outs in freeroll tournaments or at play money ring tables. Does it stink? You bet it does! Does it send your blood pressure through the roof to watch your KK get put out of the tourney by J7 offsuit? Absolutely!

But as long as we play these shooting gallery freebies, it's going to happen...often. Probably 8 out of 10 times that we sit down. It's the nature of the beast. I've made a personal decision to stop wasting time and energy bitching and moaning over my voluntary involvement in something that I know beforehand is going to make me crazy. The freerolls and play money games are chock full of beginners without a clue and just plain horrible poker players who have no concept of the game. If you're going to swim in those waters, be prepared for floating garbage.

When it gets too much to bear, I have a suggestion. Grab your plastic or your bank account number, enlist a funding agent, drop some hard-earned cash into the cage at your favorite site, and step up to the plate for some true risky business. Bad beats will still happen, but it's been my experience that the frequency plummets in direct proportion to how much the other guy has to lose. :deal:

I have to say that is well said. I had a hard time grasping on to that for a while until recently. You have to be constantly adjusting your strategy. If you pay attention to most freerolls There are only a few players that make it to the final table or in the money. I mean this in comparison to the total field. I would say a good 70% or even more that are at the final table have never seen it before.

That is why most freerolls are lotteries. LOL.

That said. You can be one of those few people if you are patient and play your cards right.

It all has to do with adjusting your strategy and getting a read on the people your playing.
