I think FTP should have its own thread-I looked for one quickly but didn't find it.

Was reading last week about how the deal was supposed to go through by Friday. Last night I was actually going to try to login for the fk of it (I used to do that occassionally in the first few days after it shutdown).

Ya, deadline was the 16th.

I read that IF it went through Tapie was looking a mid April to come back online. Kind of ironic-that will be the 1 year anniversary of BFF (Black F****** Friday).

Just read some stuff on WickedChops. Now it's looking pretty hopeful that FTP is going to be up & running soon, lol. What a freak'n roller coaster.

Wonder what tourneys/games they'll be offering at first & what kind of traffic they'll be getting? I'll be back on there for sure (I wish all the sites had software even half as good as FTP's).

I agree this should be a separate thread, the BF thread is getting ridiculously long

Yeah, but there's a ton of people subscribed to the Black Friday thread. They check their control panel and when that thread pops up, check the latest news. Just click Read First unread and you skip all the guff from 11 months ago and get the newest stuff instead of having to trawl the forums or stumble upon a thread to get the news.

I don't know, the deal's been 'done' several times over now and still no movement.

And I totally agree that I just want the FTP software back. Well, that and my bankroll would be a nice little bonus. The other sites out there just don't inspire me to want to play as much... although I would have to say that pokerstars track record in the way the business is run has me considering moving my play to their site if I ever get the impetus to make another go of online poker... with or without my FTP roll.

Another extension granted-now to May 20th.

For all the trouble caused to millions of people, seems like the smoking gun was more like a water pistol.

First, the SDNY granted extensions to the Black Friday defendants (all except Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, no reason given) to May 20, 2012. Speculation is that this is to allow more time for GBT (Groupe Bernard Tapie) to finalize the purchase of Full Tilt--which, if you've been following the press releases, is now three months past GBT's original timeline.

..John Campos.. agreed to plead guilty to a single misdemeanor charge. The report of choice this time comes from Forbes, who characterizes it as a desperate move by the DOJ. While this plea maintains the DOJ's batting average in terms of guilty pleas (6 out of 6 so far), the fact that they have knocked the charges down to a single misdemeanor is a clear indication that the DOJ would have a problem proving their case in court.

Given that the actual payment processors are being slapped on the wrist with misdemeanors, it's unlikely that the DOJ can successfully prosecute the outstanding cases.
