I've noticed that quite a few of you play in MTTs that only get a hundred or so players. Me, I play in the MTTs with a thousand or so. The question is: If you had to choose, which would you rather play MTT with few ppl or a real big MTT? And why?

I like the big ones the most because the prize is higher and it pays more spots. Also with more ppl you get more idiots, so you make the money quicker by playing conservative.:) Tell me what you think.

I don't play alot of huge online tournaments just for the time issue. I have a wife and 3 1/2 yr old and don't want to spend 5-7 hrs playing poker on my computer.

Therefore by default I like the tournaments that have around 100 or so people. I don't mind the payouts of the smaller ones, I still make a profit each month playing.

I'm with gfpokerfan. I have a family and other interests and can't justify playing hours online in a tournament. If I'm going to play that long I'll go to a B&M Casino like Lake Elsinore or Pechanga.

I prefer tournaments that has only a few hundred players (which are usually $1-5 tournaments) than a thousand plus players (which are usually freerolls). The smaller player tournaments don't have as many crazy players and donks and the gameplay is more enjoyable. I also like single table tournaments. And yes, there are also much shorter than the thousand players plus tournaments.

i guess i prefer the big ones. I have no life so i have nothing better to do then to sit around and play poker for hours on end :)

plus, for the buy in's i play especially, the pay outs tend to be a lot more worth while.

I've only played SNGs so far, never tried a tourney. I really don't have the time to sit down for hours at a time, playing all through the night.

I prefer the MTT with a lot of people, first of all, many fishes will enter the event meaning a tight approach to the tournament will truly pay off, as you will accumulate a lot of chips, second is , there will be more pay puts as someonestated above, another reason is like mattisme said, i like to watch a lot of chips in front of me. And to some extent is psicologically harder or esaier, because with 100000 chips betting 10000 to steal a pot might not do it, but when you have 5mil and bet 1 mil to steal a pot, many players will just back off at the huge number ^_^ . Also i enjoy the social aspect of the game , and the more people in the MTT the more people i meet and talk with, with can be rather funny at times. The only thing i dont like is , the idiot players who just take forever and a half to make a move, wether its a call fold or raise, then they discconect and this makes the tournament all together longer . O and i like the freeze outs, i dont like those big rebuys , its a special kind of poker i dont like, going all crazy in the first hour , is just not to my bankroll's taste ^_^

Ok ive played a few MTT's over the Christmas, I think im getting better at them, but you need to be prepared to invest a good chuck of your time at them. I played the huge $2 MTT on Stars last night, 2168 entrants and over 1000 people were out in the first hour. Thats A LOT of dead money and has to be taken into consideration when your deciding which ones to play.

I prefer MTT`s, not rebuys but Freezeouts, i dont care if its 100 players or 5000 players, I enjoy wiggling my way through the allin players and the stupid ones. I dont like Ring games nor do i like H2H games. You have to be more careful and play better in a MTT game. Howard Lederer said once> If your a good tournament player you will be a better ring game player< I dont know if thats true or not because i mostly play tourneys> 95% of the time< I just enjoy the exitement of the MTT`s.
