So, I accidentally registered for an Omaha H/L sit and go and didn't realize it until the first deal. Now, I have never played so much as a hand of this game...don't even know the basic rules or anything. I wound up winning .90...lol. (I had a poker book nearby and flipped to that chapter, reading furiously as the cards were being dealt!) It was entirely silly...or possibly beginner's luck! :)

I had beginner's luck playing Omaha. My very first hand I wound up with the nut Full house. After that, I tanked. I just played a freeroll omaha last night. I was doing well until Pokerhost decided to have problems with the connection. I tried reconnecting at least three times. Eventually, I got kicked off. I tried to go bakc in but I couldn't. I ended up in 59th place. Not bad, considering there was 198 players left when it had problems.:call2: :call:

I did the same thing! A while back I entered an omaha 10 person tournament by accident not knowing what Omaha even was. I won 1st place! I tried it a few more times when I actually knew what I was doing and never got close to winning again. Go figure.

I've had the same thing happen. Wasn't on Absolute was it? I accidentally got into a freeroll on there and was doing pretty damn well actually, quite often scooping both pots.

And I too fumbled for a nearby publication to find out what the hell I was doing:) Didn't wind up winning, though.

That's where it happened to me:) They don't make it clear enough I think. Whatever. It was fun. All good experience, and I actually enjoyed it.

Am I the only person who royally screwed up their first time playing Omaha H/L? :)

Highlights included me missing a straight and a nut full house I'd made and checking down both times.

That's why I hate Omaha! Even though I know you can only use two of your hole cards, I can get my mind wrapped around the concept and keep trying to make hands with more than two of my hole cards. :bird:
