Sorry for another thread about rakeback but my roommate wants to make an account on fulltilt poker and he was going to refer me as his friend....does this have anything to do with getting rakeback? like could he still sign up for rakeback AND refer me as a friend??

trying to make the account now so all responses are greatly appreciated

If he uses you as a referral through FTP I don't see how he can get rb.

I don't believe he can. Just doesn't make sense how that would work. The thing you can do is refer him to your RB provider and a lot of them give referral bonuses.

Really? If you are sure on this, then I stand by the motto "you learn something everyday". LOL

No I'm not but if you think it through it only makes sense. First if Brian refers him FTP is paying Brian for that referral. It's like Brian is his friends affiliate. FTP isn't then going to allow some RB site to also get paid for Brian's friend and we all know FTP doesn't allow people with affiliates to get RB.

get an account at a RB provider, even if you cant have RB at FT.

get your friend to create an account at the same RB provider listing your as referer.

get 2% of his rake back (that's what RTR pays at least), while he gets 27%.

profit.

Actually I doubt that's true any more. My provider went to flat fee only commissions when FTP changed the amount they were paying affiliates back in the Spring. Old referrals still get commission but new ones don't have that option.

your provider sucks. Mine actually offers 3% now for FT, 4% otherwise, plus 1% for sub-referrals and an extra $10.

You can have the discussion - just use google to find the sites. Easy peasy.
