I've been playing online for only a few months on FullTilt, but have noticed a few interesting items.

1 Flush flops

Often seem to happen when holding pocket flush cards - of a different suit.

2 Identical pocket cards

When multitabling, this happens a couple of times a night (1-3 hours), even playing only 2 tables.

Very often these are identical suits too.

e.g. table 1 - AJspades, table 2 - AJspades

I'm not wishing to buy into the 'online is fixed' camp, but want to chat with anyone with a skeptical opinion on this. But as a n00b, I'm wary of such a lack of variance in what ought to be wildly infrequent patterns.

Original poster, you are either imagining things or you just happen to be in the midst to some coincidences. Honestly, if the cards on your multiple tables were related, do you think you would be the first person to have noticed?

Forget about it. Play poker.

I would go with this advice

This, I see this, I see that does not mean anything...zippo. Millions of people say the same things. All the discussing about IT in the world will do no good without the proven math.

NOW, if you feel there is a true abnormality in the program, collect 1 million of your own hands--or datamine millions of hands of others and mathematically study the subject. When you can confirm these sightings by using true math you can get some to agree with your suspicions.

Or get someone to run a study for you.

Otherwise, anyone can say, Yeah I see that also, and it will mean nothing as well :)

Good Thing about Online Poker....over millions and millions of random hands, the odds of running into certain situations will run within certain mathematical parameters. So if the sites are running unfairly, it is fairly easy to determine if the Random Number Generator is off somehow to allow starnge results.

Hmmm. As I said, I'm not buying into 'online fixes', so really I deserve less aggressive replies.

I screenshot this each time it happens and, while that's not scientific, I did think it interesting enough to merit some non-judgemental discussion.

As it looks like this won't happen, and contributors want to have their moment of bluing with me, I'll close the thread.

Do you screenshot it when it doesn't happen? Of course not. Nobody was rude to you, only to the point because your idea is silly enough that it doesn't warrant rigorous discussion.

Until someone comes out with a database of a million hands showing some very strange numbers that shouldn't be there, we have to assume it's legit. However, FullTilt does have a pretty shaky history... I would avoid that site.
