Hey guys. I currently play on four networks: WPN, intertops, FullFlush, and BetOnline. I can't play on Bovada or Merge as I live in New York.

I've never had any connection issues with Tops or WPN. I just started playing on FullFlush and BetOnline about two weeks ago and progressively, things have gotten worse. I am constantly dealing with the software crashing, being disconnected from the network, and having massive periods of lag. The action will freeze, I'll be kind of "timed out" for 5-15 seconds, and then the action will speed up super fast and "catch up" to what I missed. Often times, this results in me folding my hand or losing a hand that I was in the middle of.

Last night, I placed 2nd in a 6max Turbo SNG when I should have placed first. The blinds were up to 4,000/2,000 and I got dc'd with the one other guy left and was blinded down about 12,000 chips.

Of course, both networks insist they're not having any issues and the problem has to be on my end. The fact is that my internet connection is great, I've tested it extensively, and I have no trouble with any other programs or sites. I was told that the software for both of these networks runs off of Adobe Flash player and I have updated and checked this plugin, as well as Java, extensively also. Everything is fine on my end.

Anyone else having trouble with these networks? Is this just me? What can I do about this other than just only play on WPN and Tops?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

To update this: I went ahead and tried a few things. First, I downloaded Adobe Shockwave to see if that runs the software better than Flash itself. Second, I uninstalled Mcaffee security scan as I didn't even really mean to install it the other day anyway. It comes included with Flashplayer. The last thing that I did was go ahead and lower Java's security settings to the minimum.

I've been connected to both the BetOnline and FullFlush lobby for about fifteen minutes now and the connection seems to be far more stable. I'll play for a bit and see how it goes and then come back and update this thread. Anyone else who's having similar issues, please post here. Maybe we can figure this out together.

I've only been playing at Full Flush since CC started freerolls there, and so far I have had the software shutdown on me twice, it happens when it takes me to the table.

Don't want to jinx it but so far it's a night and day difference. I'm playing a $3 6max DON and haven't had the slightest hitch. My connection in the lobby is full green 99% of the time, too.

Once again, here's the steps I've followed so far:

1) I left this step out and I believe this step is key - You want to go into windows features (start button, then type in windows features) and disable Internet Explorer. Let's face it, it's a pos and it interferes with just about everything while it's there. I believe it overrides the way other programs handle adobe and java and creates a conflict when these programs are in use. So disable it. Your computer will go through a bunch of steps and a restart.

2) Once things are back up and running, download Adobe Shockwave. Install it, naturally.

3) Make sure that all of your browsers are up to date.

4) Lower Java's security setting to the minimum. Once again, I believe it causes a conflict in these poker clients that are flash/java based if you put it on anything higher.

5) Go back into windows features and re-enable Internet Explorer. This allows programs (such as Black Chip Poker's cashier) that need to use IE to still function while at the same time making your system function as if IE wasn't there in just about every other way.

So far, that's it. As if it wasn't enough. As said, I'm going to play quite a bit tonight on both networks so if things continue to run as well as they are right now, then there's probably no coincidence in the matter. Some of, if not all, of these steps improve the function of these clients. If that's the case, we would have to narrow down which steps actually caused the improvement but since they're all pretty harmless and don't cause any other system conflicts anyway, at least we have a base solution to go on for now.

An update to this: I have played about 8 or 9 DONs on BetOnline so far tonight and I haven't had even the slightest problem. I haven't even logged onto FullFlush yet to check since I last posted because I've been so busy playing without the ridiculous issues on BO.

For the record - With things running properly, this is the best network of the four I play on. I can basically just sit and constantly run sit and go's and MTT's 24/7. Well, things actually just died for tournaments, period...but this is the case with all networks within the past half an hour. End of a holiday weekend @ 3am obviously isn't going to be booming. But it was packed before and had the 2nd most traffic behind Bovada and was running really smooth so, knock on wood, it seems that I've solved the problem somehow.

You're very welcome. If it helps anyone just a little, it was worth it. Not much more frustrating than trying to play online poker while having connection issues.

To this minute I still haven't had a problem yet. I'll narrow down exactly what steps were responsible for the improvement at some point but for now I think the key is lowering Java's security clearance to the minimum, downloading Shockwave, and disabling IE.

FullFlush and BetOnline use almost identical software. I agree, too. It's not up to the standard of WPN, Tops, and Merge at this time. They could both use an update or two and some new features. The thing is that FullFlush has the best bonuses and tournament prizes right now and BetOnline's population is exploding both on the cash game and tournament front.

Once again, however, I haven't had even the slightest hitch since I implemented the steps I detailed here in this thread. Really - nothing in dozens and dozens of games now.
