Full tilt announced yesterday that from Monday January 24th- Sunday January 30th, all weekly guarantee tournaments will have double the guarantee. However, here's the catch; all guaranteed tournaments will be Multi-Entry Tournaments. Last time full tilt did a double guarantee week, from what I saw, they matched most guarantees. Giving players the ability to buy-in 4 times into the same mtt, prize pools can expected to be gigantic. But are Multi-Entry tourneys just full tilt's way of creating prize pools that rival pokerstars' major tournaments? Since pokerstars has about 2.3x the amount of players as full tilt, if full tilt gives everyone the option to buy-in 4 times into a single game, they can expect their prize pools to be greater than pokerstars. So if full tilt can't get more players than pokerstars, just let them register into the same tournament 4x to rival pokerstars player pool. Will you be playing in double guarantee week?

This should be fun.

I remember the $3.30 Rush Rebuy had a 64K Guar. prize pool during the Rush week (which almost never reached its full capacity), this should be similar. :D

lol op!! I do think business men think about their pockets but thats fkn hilarious.
Making double guarentees week to compete with Pstars player field. lol.
Yeah it benefits them and their pockets but it also benefits their most loyal customers: the regs!!!. When I had a lil business going I thought most about my most loyal customers. So as a business strategy I think its genius. And as a poker player I think its a brilliant idea as well.
I will be playing as many as I can afford with BR management so that I can play the FTOPS which is also multi entry-another great idea!

Nope wont be playing...kind of the lines i was thinking at first like a glorified rebuy tourney however with having to buy in 4x the get 4x the tourney fees which they wouldnt get if were simply a rebuy tourney...good marketing plan if youre FTP for the player not so much...However if you are into that more power to you..ill pass and wait for my simple freezouts with only one fee.

multi-entry just seems like an easy way for FTP to make sure all the guarantees will be met. That said I'll prolly be playing all the small buy-in double guarantees.

Mathematically it looks like a good investment. But only marginally, from my calculations. But every little bit counts.

I like the double guarantee idea. But my feeling is that Full Tilt believes in almost every tourney the guarantee will be covered by entry's i.e. the daily dollar will have a prize pool of 20 grand instead of the normal 10. That tourney normally reaches the 9,500-10,500 entry mark. But with multi entry and double guarantee more players will play. The max entry on the daily dollar is 35,000 so if ftp gets just 20,000 to enter the daily dollar, then the double guarantee is covered so they really arent doing much more then to entice more players in their tourneys. But a 20 grand prize pool or more for only one buck is still great. But id rather face 9,499 ppl then 20,000+ for the share of 20 grand

I think that it kind of sucks. I play a lot of micro guarantees. They just about all reach the guarantee which is fine with me, I don't play them looking for layover. I do like somewhat big tournaments, but the size during double guarantee week is going to be insane, plus I don't really like the multi-entry. Looks like I'm going to be stuck playing cash games, for that week.

i think it starts at 2pm?? 1.10 turbo multi entry

There seems to be a few good ones. Theres the super turbo rush rebuy plo w 3,000 guaranteed. A turbo multi entry w 2,500 nl guaranteed which seems to be what your referring to. I like the rush rebuy w 10,000 guaranteed at 22:35...I might be hitting that one up
