Hi all,

Been taking a break from poker so have not been on the forum for a month or so. I've got a feeling this would've been discussed before but couldn't find a thread after a quick search - if it has then feel free to direct to me it and we can delete this...

What's going on with the disappearance of the waiting lists at Full Tilt for cash games!!? I hate it. It used to be you could scan the list, assess the juicy games with smaller waiting lists and off you go. Now (unless I'm mistaken) you have to click on every individual table's waiting list to see how many are on it. I understand you can use the feature to wait for the next available seat but I don't want dozens of tables constantly popping up while I'm trying to concentrate. How does this make things easier!? It's rubbish. Anyone else got an opinion?

Another bad move by Full Tilt. The more negative emails they get the more likely they are to bring these things back, so start writing. I have already sent my nasty message to them.

Yeah I think I will. I found a few threads at different forums expressing similar dislike too so I'm thinking of collating a few links together and including them in my email.

Doesn't matter

Doesn't matter much to me as long as the game is still around to be played I'm happy and nothing will really change that. Not much will really alter that.Waiting lists are such a small aspect of the big picture.Waiting lists in my opinion shouldn't even be a factor in the scheme of things anyway.

Fulltilts reason for this is they think people will "SWARM" the waiting lists with the most people waiting to be on those tables..

..when really people do just the opposite.

I dont think its even that bad, it still places you in every waiting list for that stake of table and with a little waiting you can still get to the right table just like the before the update!

Already sent a few nasty emails myself. The tickets are the worst thing that full tilt has ever done. Bring back the ftp points for winning satelites then you at least have options of what to do with your winnings.

If you go to Options you can join individual waiting lists instead, it's just a tick box...

I kinda like the new global waitlist, although it did take some getting used to.

FTP Doug posted some Q&A about this on 2p2 and linked to it in a Twitter post. You can follow him on Twitter if you want to be kept up to date on FTP changes.

Basically it had to do with a change in how table data is pushed to the client lobby. It had become so much data that users on slower connections were suffering, so they restructured the data stream and now only minimal table data gets pushed to the lobby until you actually click on a table, which requests the rest of that table's data. He's proposing a possible update that would add the wait list count to the wait list tab so it will display as you scroll through the tables, rather than having to actually click the waitlist tab.

Then they should have made it optional.. I doubt more people have slow internet than people with fast, $25/month (sometimes less) is all it takes for high speed.

Well, first, there's still a ton of internet customers -- especially in rural areas -- that cannot get high-speed internet. They're stuck with dial-up, cellular, or satellite, none of which are spectacular in terms of speed, latency, and reliability at times.

But that aside, you have to consider the bottleneck from *their* standpoint. They have to dump a ton of data from their network out to tens or hundreds of thousands of players constantly, and they pay for that bandwidth. Working in the IT field as I do, I can certainly understand their attempts to minimize unnecessary data transfer where possible.

FTP Doug said it was too much data to be passing constantly, and they had to address it. Right or wrong, we're stuck with it, although he said small tweaks like noted earlier might be possible to ease the pain. Let FTP Support know how you feel about it, and FTP Doug as well. If they get enough input, they may come up with something better.

I know the overwhelming response in posts has been negative, and I also initially disliked the global waiting list, but I now like it. I look at tables first to see if there's a specific table that I absolutely want to be waitlisted on - if so, I waitlist that table. If there are several that all look pretty good and no single table that's clearly better than the others, I join the global list and review in the popup as a table is presented whether I want to join that one or not, it only takes a second (stack sizes, color coding on players, avg pot size, avg VPIP).

I'm only playing 4 tables now though, I can see why MMT's would find it annoying.
