I know that if the pot goes over 1.00 you get points, does it work the same way in full tilt? or is it easier to get points on there?

From Full Tilt's site: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/fullTiltPoints.php
Earning Points

Start earning Full Tilt Points by playing in any qualifying raked real-money hand in a ring game or a real-money Multi-Table Tournament or Sit & Go with a tournament fee:

Ring Games: For each dollar raked from a pot, every player who was dealt cards for that hand will receive 1 Full Tilt Point. For example, if $2.00 in rake is taken from a pot, each player who was dealt cards will receive 2 points. Fractional points are also awarded; if $2.25 in rake is taken, players will receive 2.25 points. A maximum of 3 points can be earned per hand.

Tournaments: For every dollar paid in Multi-Table Tournament or Sit & Go fees, you'll receive 7 Full Tilt Points. There is no limit to the number of points you can earn per tournament. For example, if you play in a tournament with a $10 buy-in and a $1 tournament fee, you'll receive 7 points; if you play in a tournament with a $200 buy-in and a $16 tournament fee, you'll receive 112 points.

Please note: Points are credited at the end of a hand or when the tournament finishes.
Then if it's "Happy Hour", the points are doubled or tripled.
Double and Triple Points

Earn double or even triple Full Tilt Points just by playing in your favorite ring games and tournaments during our daily Happy Hour periods. Look for specially designated tables with the "smiley face" next to them in the game lobby to start earning points faster. Your bonus points will automatically appear in your account, so all you have to worry about is how to spend them.

I use to play pokerstars a lot then when I started playing poker than when I joined CC I started playing on FTP more often because of the freerolls. I think its easier to get points on FTP but I think pokerstars has better tourney's, SNG's, and cash table. :)

On FT you get fractional points that when they add up to a point you earn them. you get it at all levels of cash games. not sure on PS.

Something everyone should know about FTP's and I'm sure many already do but for those who don't (man I need a coffee)......when you first sign up with Full Tilt you get offered your 100% matching bonus, where they explain that each FTP that you earn is worth .06 so for example 100 FTP's earned = $6 toward your bonus, sounds easy enough. The reality is once your bonus accumulation period is over FTP's are worth only half a cent or 200 FTP's =$1. Keep in mind as well when working toward your bonus that only your rake is counted toward the bonus ie. $24+2 SNG you make .12 toward your bonus and not 26x.06 for what I originally thought would be $1.56 toward the bonus. To further add to what some may think is misleading (I did which is why I clarified this) when they run the happy hour and you get double or triple the FTP's this does NOT count toward your bonus. So if you play a $24+2 SNG during happy hour only the original $2 in rake is counted toward your bonus and not what I thought would be double points. You will still get double or triple points during happy hour but only the original regular rake will count toward the bonus. Clear as mud????
Therefore if you are a tournament player and you deposit $100 you will need to play 834 $24+2 tourneys to collect the full $100 matching bonus (2$ rake x .06 x 834=$100.02). Personally I find this to be rather deceiving as you are given the impression that you put in a hundo and you'll get a hundo in return but like the old saying goes "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is". This bonus is great if you are or plan on being a Grinder. Personally I'm not as I find playing thousands of tournaments a year to not only be mind numbing but it also leads to sub par ROI's. If you don't believe me on this last point check out the Full Tilt MTT leaderboard and look at the leaders stats on OPR (Official Poker Rankings). The proof is in the chocolate pooding (yum:). I haven't done the calculation for ring games but it stands to reason it's just as absurd.
Have fun collecting those points:eek:
BTW I'm sure pokerstars makes it just as difficult but I could be wrong.

I understand what you are saying. TBH its a newbie thing.

All bonuses are pretty much like this, so it is what it is.

Bonuses are difficult to clear whilst playing tournaments because you simply dont pay all that much rake (commission to the site) hence you dont get all that much back. If you play cash games where each hand is raked, you would clear that bonus in no time.

Bonus clearing is more beneficial to cash players than tournament players because the cash players pay far more rake.

Swamplicker, Umm, well all of this is, I thought, clearly explained if you look on full tilt's website. Pokerstars does give you way WAY longer than full tilt to clear your bonuses, 6 months as apposed to what 1?

In the 24+2 example, you get 14 ftps for a $2 fee (7 per $1 fee). 14*.06 = $0.84. So to clear your $100 bonus you would need to play ~120 tourneys with a $2 fee. You don't get 6cents per dollar you get 6cents per FTP earned (not including bonus ftps, happy hour, etc.) Haven't played much on FT lately but their is no way they changed it so drastically to be what you think.

*So your only off by 714 tourneys, and on another note, if your thinking of depositing $100 and playing $24+2 you might as well take that $100 and buy lottery and scratch tickets.

Thanks Suit2please I got my math all messed up there. You're right it is clearly explained on the FT website in the fine print and FT gives you 3 months to clear your bonus so definately not as good as PS. I suppose I was a little misleading in suggesting that someone would deposit $100 and play $24+2 tourneys, my bad. Personally, I like Chris Fergusons bankroll management approach, and I quote "don't buy into an MTT for more than 2% of your bankroll,( you can buy into any MTT with a BI of $1)" His cash game approach is also very sound " never buy into a cash game or SNG with more than 5% of your bankroll,(only exception is the lower limit $2.50 or lower BI's).
