Do you have any thoughts of the Steps and the new ticket structures?

i personally like it since there is a "chance" to use 3.30 to win a 12,000 main event package within straight 7 wins and as long as you stay within 4th place, you will be guaranteed to have another go.

My thoughts:
For the first while (since this is new for Fulltilt) you will find 9plyr sng's being played by players who don't regularly play them & the play in them will be weaker than typical. You will also find many who have little understanding of push/fold game, ie. calling down too light during mid-levels & early late levels (on bubble or just off bubble).
You'll also find weaker players playing at higher buyin levels than they'd normally be playing at (or ever be playing at). Should be a good go for regs.
How I might consider to use it.... for satelliting into $26 & $75 mtts & 45-plyr sng's (instead of just playing the 18-plyr. token sng's they had prior).

It'd be interesting to see how many actually go for the zero to hero approach ($3 to Mn.Event.... and are successful with it). I don't think I'll be giving that a go anytime soon.

I like them, I have 4 tickets for $26.00 which i use for the 45 pl sng. I'm finding that a lot of people are playing them like a double or nothing you get on stars.

What way do anyone think is the best way to play these steps

Yes, I just saw that they recently added these at FTP. Haven't tried them out yet, but plan to. I like the concept of how you can move up & down in steps based on how you finish. Quite cool.

I am doing the zero to hero approach. I have played in 12 of the step 0 tournments and have won 10 step 1 tickets now. I am playing in the super turbos. Since many people still do not know how to play them. They have a hard time playing the super turbos like a double or nothing SNG. it is either shit or get off the pot.

GL to all who play. to bad you can turn a tournment in for cash.

I used ftp's to buy a step 2 ticket and worked it up to a step 4. I am about to use that in the daily 24k.

You can exchange the steps tickets for tournament dollars? I might try these.

I don't like the structure because you can't cash out your tickets. If you start at the bottom, it's really you lose the stage 1 buy in or you win the main prize. I understand the point of this is your either move up, move down slightly or bust out completely and selling tickets would of course go against the point of this structure. They should enable a selling option and have a penalty commission charge.

You don't have to lose the step 1 buy-in or win a main prize. Beginning at step 3 you can use the ticket to buy into any tournament with that buy-in. And then if you cash in the tournament you have converted that step 1 buy-in to money.

I played up to step 4 and then used the $75 ticket to buy into the $24k gtd yesterday. I didn't cash - but if I had it would have been a good turn around - especially since I used ftp's to buy my step 2 ticket.

I had 0.19c in my account and about 10k FTP's...so I bought a step 1 ticket and used it to advance to step 3, which I then played a 26$ matrix SnG with my step 3 ticket and cashed 54$..so thats 750 ftp's and a lil poker playing for 54$ not to shabby IMO.. now lets see if I can do it again...

I don't like this new structure. FT has put most of its sng's into the steps, limiting most other games.

I need exit points to recover my money. The tilt structure has it so that once your money is on the steps you can't get it out, ever! You might get lucky and step into a big game but it will likely be so far over your head/my head, that I would want brand new CERTIFIED RABBIT FEET (plural, need more than a few).

Incidentally, the # of players online at tilt has dropped since they did this and I' think it is a big reason why.

I got a step 1 ticket with 20 iron man medals, and now i am up to step 6! I think instead of trying for step 7 ill play in the 150 me seat guarantee for free.
